I think it looks really nice! A change I would maybe make is instead of all those steps leading into the water, I would have only 3 make each one deeper/longer? You don't need a step all the way at the bottom of the surface.

Maybe have a middle step line up with the bench right next to them so that it extends across that whole end. Having the step surface bigger you could also sit a chair on it for those who just want to cool their feet.

Nope. I like your first orientation best. With the hot tub on the corner. That way people can congregate all along the pool side without being separated by the hot tub.

My only other comment is maybe think about those bench seats right under the hot tub. If your kids are like mine (or me haha) people like to jump into the pool directly from the hot tub. So I’d be a little concerned having the benches right under them.
If you turn the steps into small versions of tanning ledges, you may not need those bench seats or maybe just on the end.

I have a similar layout as your plan. Just posting it so you can see how my middle step goes around off the tanning ledge too.
It makes for good sitting.

We’ve only had the pool a couple years but so far people congregate on the side closest to the house. The seating area opposite side of the pool rarely gets used. I still like having it for balance but just an observation.

The only other thing I’d change is not have the spa overflow corner so angled down. Our neighbors angle is barely noticeable and you can sit there or put a drink there. Not so on mine.

A friend just had the rolled edge around the top coping of the spa and I’ll say it is really nice!
