@vgkg Z-7 Va, what happened to your other hens?

^^^, jrb we got 6 chicks about 7 years ago and they all eventually died off except for this one buff which is now essentially just a pet. She will lay eggs but it's just a few dozen/year at best now. Why the others died is unknown, they may have pecked up a small piece of broken glass or other item that did them in? I didn't have a rooster for replacement purposes so once this buff dies (Buffy) this hobby will be scratched off of my bucket list.

The weekend here was all about the Australian federal election, so this is democracy, Aussie style:

Supporters handing out "how to vote cards" for their candidates (voting is preferential here, so there's a strategy involved in how your preferences are distributed)

The all-important traditional post-vote "sausage sizzle" in this case raising money for the school:

The results of the election? A change of government. The new Prime Minister and cabinet are being sworn in today (Monday). No messing around with the changeover!

This was another beautiful day for hiking!
