Comments (19)Definitely one of the downsides to a natural stone product--the need to find "the" slab(s). I have been advocating for matte stainless steel on practicality grounds, but dh is worried it will be "too shiny." So I'm trying to find a place to see it installed in person and to find some back up options. I had originally planned on soap stone, but we put it in our bathroom about 18 months ago and I'm not feeling it for the kitchen. I think it is darker than I would prefer to work on everyday. Dh still likes the soapstone a lot so it's a bit of a challenge....See MoreMadre Perla-To Quartzite or NOT to Quartzite-That is the question...
Comments (8)Madre Perla owner here, though mine is brushed I tested a polished piece originally, nothing stained it not even tumeric. My slab does not etch. It has survived a lemondrop party and multiple instances of canning tomatoes. It's been 3-4 years its beauty, particularly the large uninterrupted island slab, still stops people in their tracks. They carress it, as I do, and say What is this???...See Morekitchen cabinets in SW Aesthetic White? - share pics please
Comments (5)I do like Pure White for the trim. But I don't like Pure White for the cabinets as my Sea Pearl Quartzite needs something with a bit more warmth. I tried Alabaster, but it's a bit yellow and I like Greek Villa but it's still not quite right. The Aesthetic White looks very pleasing to the eye with the quartzite, but I am concerned what Aesthetic White will look like on acbinets. I am doing SW Grays Harbor for the Island. I don't find much about Aesthetic White on houzz, pinterest or instagram. All the colors the designer came up with are very pretty but I am having a hard time visualizing....See Morerecommendations for backsplash for michalangelo quartzite?
Comments (6)Herbflavour, probably a combination of difficult lighting and bad photography. The cabinets are a warm white. The lighting in the room is all new and the kitchen is extremely bright so definitely not a problem, but there are also some large windows in the room and we had a snowstorm recently... so there’s probably some cool light reflecting into the room from some areas in those photos. And both of the pictures were taken later in the day, on different days. I can try to get some better pictures at some point, but I agree with all the comments so far - something really plain and lacking texture/colour....See MoreKristin Petro Interiors, Inc.
