alright, thanks. gonna have the moorside set on a diagonal and think more about thresholds. tile guy suggests putting the white marble there to separate the two. but, won't 12 " pieces of white marble with grout between not look good as a threshold? i thought thresholds were supposed to be one strip of a stone (or other material). i can't find images of this anywhere and am having a tough time imagining. uggh.

Thanks, Jan! I just snapped a couple additional photos showing the area at the front entry in relation to the front hallway where the runner is + a length shot of the runner. I measured from the door to the wall where the hallway starts and it’s 72 in. The length of the door across (not counting the molding on the sides) is 36 in. exactly. And the widest I could probably go without interfering with the air vent is 48 in. But i’m afraid to get one too big so that its too close to the hallway runner. shouldn’t there be some space? what’s the recommendation there? I also measured the width of the hallway and it’s 43.5 in. Given those measurements, do you have a suggestion on which entry rug and runner sizes would work best? Thank you!

and nothing in the hallway? I do feel I need the foot trafficked areas to have rugs to protect my floors. I like the idea of a wider rug in the entry area, but I still want a runner in the hall. I guess I’m just lost on how to approach mixing and matching rugs in a contiguous area.

Sure...I used to sell cork for 6.5 years. Some referred to me as one of the most knowledgeable cork experts in N. America (not my words). What's your square footage? What's your climate? What's your substrate? How old is the home? etc, etc, etc. Cork has a wide range of 'happy' but it has some things that need to be addressed before it can be installed. Your location and substrate (wood vs. slab; slab age and location are HUGE indicators of what SHOULD go down vs. what you WANT to do down). Give me more info and I will advise you in the best way possible. Tell me where your samples have come from and what your plans are for install...and WHO is installing the floor...I'll help as much as I can.
