disappointing Hogyoku - try a different spot?
Comments (2)All fall leaf colors are the result of specific chemicals/compounds being left in the leaf as the tree begins to withdraw nutrients back into the stems and trunk for the winter. I beleive Maple colors are highly dependant on the sugar content in the leaves. So you might want to try a little light fertilizer (organic if possible) and see if this perks up the colors. Weather also plays a crucial role here, which you can't do much about I'm afraid! I bought a Hogyoku this year which I have planted in full sun. So far its doing pretty well (see pix) I'm anxious to see if the colors turn out as advertized! Regards, K4 Hogyoku...See MoreOne coat paint new color over different first coat?
Comments (6)Okay, if you're still painting, I think you need some sleep! :-) First of all, it is always advisable to do two coats. You might get what you think is adequate coverage with one, but there will be spots you don't quite cover and YES the color does come into its own with the second coat. Palladian Blue is a far cry from Light Pewter. I think the QM will give you what you are looking for once you have two coats on four walls. Remember, there is a reflectivity factor when paint bounces off itself from wall to wall. The color builds. PB is a very strong blue green. It is lovely, but quite a departure from the gray you started with and I have a hunch that's not what you're after. I'd keep going with the Quiet Moments....See MoreLayout choices two different ones new design opinions please
Comments (37)I think you are probably wise to go with your lesser choice and have the sink in the island. You loved the island plan and it had the sink there. Anyway, you are so much closer to the look you'd hoped for than when you first posted the plan with the bilevel peninsula. I tried to draw things out. I'm not sure how you want to move the fridge and how large you envision the pantry. So here's just an attempt in which I tried something a little different, because if you want a hutch looking piece I'm afraid it has to be wider than you have? I might have some of the measurements off from what you plan for that wall. Also, if you want the sink centered in the island you will have to have 2 ft on each side, which squeezes your dining area. Maybe you didn't plan it centered, though. I have it centered in this plan and you can see how it affects the length of the kitchen to see what you think....See MoreThis one looks new to me. Comments (8)From the LINK I provided You to read: Survival and Dispersal The fungus spends the winter in infected plant debris in or on the soil where it can survive at least one and perhaps several years. It can also be seed borne. New spores are produced the following season. The spores are transported by water, wind, insects, other animals including man, and machinery. Once the initial infections have occurred, they become the most important source of new spore production and are responsible for rapid disease spread....See Morebpath
