Steam cleaning rug on trex/composite decking?

Has anyone steam cleaned a rug outside on top of trex or other composite decking? Our house has hardwood so we can't easily steam clean a few area rugs on there. I was wondering if anyone had experience doing that outside on a composite deck, and if it damaged the deck at all before renting one.

Any specific products or cleaning agents would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldnt. If you have a driveway, with a hard surface, clean it off and put the rug there, or in the garage on the floor, or even in a basement, if you have a concrete surface.

I'd put a tarp on the driveway to keep the back of the rug clean and do it there. Since Trex is plastic, I'm sure they recommend no steam anywhere near it.

Been having some difficulty finding a direct answer for what rug materials are safe for trex decking. I reached out to Trex directly asking them about polypropylene and they said to definitely not use that as a rug material as it could damage the deck over time... Our deck is covered and screened in so for the most part it's shielded from the elements... Anyone have any real experience using a rug on their trex or composite deck and have any ideas on what rug material to look for?

If the grain pattern is alternated when the light reflects off the pattern it can make the deck boards appear to be a different color.
