Need wall mounted tub faucet recommendation for freestanding tub
Comments (15)Thanks so much for the suggestions and advice. I am concerned about being able to get the tub close enough for a faucet reach but far away enough to clean. Unfortunately, a floor mount is not ideal since we're on a concrete slab. A wall mount would be a much easier install. It would be on a wall backing up to the master closet, so I think we could also have a panel to access the plumbing. I really like the Newport brass fixture, although it's a bit more modern than fixtures we've used in the other bathrooms. I would like to use a readily available brand name so parts are replaceable....See MoreHow much clearance around a freestanding tub?
Comments (6)I have no experience with free standing tubs but when I see various pictures of them, they don't necessarily looked jammed into a space but I wonder how to clean around it. For example, this one has plenty of space around it: While with this one, looks like one needs to step into the tub and then step out in the corner in order to clean back there, clean the windows, etc. Not my cup of tea. Of course, as always, if you have servants, don't matter none...... ;)...See MoreHow much room do I need around a freestanding tub?
Comments (2)Plus room to stand bent over with your head down beside the tub to clean behind it. Maybe the width of your vacuum cleaner head? I love the look, but I am too old to clean in awkward places. I would probably fall in the tub. I am so jealous that you get a freestanding tub! They are so beautiful....See MoreHow do you install river rocks around the base of a freestanding tub?
Comments (15)If we all liked the same things, it would be a truly boring world. Do you mean you like the small smooth pebbles (rather than larger rocks or stones) -- because if so, you can use that look ... but perhaps not as a construction material. If you truly like the "river rock" or any other non-conventional look, then consider using that look to to decorate rather than to build. If you could find a decorative bowl you truly like, you could fill it with pebbles/rocks and place them in any room in your house -- even more than one room. Does your bath get sunlight? Does your yard get sunlight outside the bath window or elsewhere? The reason I ask about sunlight is that there is now a solar powered water pump that could be put in a bowl or birdbath in the yard ... with small smooth creek/river pebbles below and around it to help hold the solar water pump in place for a water feature for your sunlight room or patio or yard. Sometimes stores -- sometimes even the Dollar Tree-- will sell smooth pebbles for planters/pots and you may find some you like well enough to use for decorative purposes. https://www.google.com/search?q=Solar+water+pump+feature+for+fountain+bird+bath&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj4xtjBtqjqAhUej3IEHdRSChEQ_AUoAnoECA8QBA&biw=1366&bih=654 https://www.google.com/search?q=smooth+pebbles+for+planters+or+water+features&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjF17Xzt6jqAhXlhHIEHa03A0kQ_AUoAnoECAsQBA&biw=1366&bih=654 Let us know what you decide -- do post after pics....See MoreHALLETT & Co.
