Thanks for the input, good advice. Planned on a door to bath but never noticed it wasn't included. If up is north on pic, bed would be on west wall. We were thinking of moving shower and toilet to south wall, shower would be bigger toilet room smaller Toilet area 3x4 (door opening out), moving bath tub to west wall. Putting separate sinks on easy and west side of window were tub was. Could then add more cabinets and storage?

I don't know what people are talking about. Your layout is great for seeing yourself in daylight at the vanity seat, which is NOT a lower counter, according to your original drawing you posted above! I agree with the person who said that you need a freestanding counter-top mirror for your vanity area. A large one would be very functional there, and it needs to be light enough that you can move it to get good angles for light on both sides of your face. You may want to get a pair of narrow pendants to hang, one on either side of the vanity area to light up both sides of your face. Consider making the base cabinet on your left a pull-out to hold your grooming tools such as hair dryers and whatever curling, crimping, or straightening appliances you use. Make certain there is a grounded outlet at the station so that you may do your hair care while sitting if you ever need/desire to do so. I can't find a picture of the pull-out I am talking about. It goes behind the door, under the drawer. The door becomes a pull-out, like in the kitchen. It combines this idea... with this idea Where this utensil drawer is the lower cabinet door pull-out (below the drawer), and the metal bins hold the brushes, combs, hot appliances and whatever you want to have in reach. I don't know if you spend any time doing your hair, but if you do, why tire your legs and feet on hard tile early each day? Sit, have your tools at hand, and a place to set your hot beverage of choice!

I''d change the patio door to a window in a single heartbeat. Or eliminate it. Use that wall for the bed. Your "wishes" are exceeding what the footprint will allow. Move the bath entry to center on the bath window and bench. You will have the IDENTICAL amount o useful inches on bed wall, ( more if you reverse the entry door swing, ) and a direct route for both of you into the bath.............or not) Yes, it makes a bit longer walk to the closet in the middle of the day....ASSUMING THE BATH LOOKS LIKE below..........and your bed on on the far opposite wall, change door to window. . You can't have everything : ) A bank of linen drawers in place of the left side vanity will still put the focus ON your little window seat, and give you really good storage. Pop a beautiful mirror over and expand the light even more, while also "repeating" the mirror on the now right side vanity. It need not be perfectly symmetrical to be lovely and useful, especially for the long term. A trip around the bed, and bumping walls to get to a toilet......will render the cute little bench, not very cute when you hear the yelp and cussing in the middle of the night.

Just a point. No one here could have guessed you were using non standard vanites and that was why you wanted to do a single vanity. Makes a lot more sense with that bit of information. I think people are fine giving free advice, it is just that the concept of not using anyone to design a house is not recommended. And so you should have someone to go to. It would make more sense to look at the whole project rather than a clip of a floor plan on the forum. Symmetry for instance could be a repeating theme. Or it could be more eclectic. Also size of spaces etc. What they don't necessarily like is looking at one part and trying to cut costs - that is not dealing with the project as a whole - and that is the objection. I think 48 in vanities are fine and I was going to make that suggestion and that can actually be a pretty big savings. I also agree that you need a door on the toilet space or the bathroom - at least 1. I can tell you there is a reason that bathrooms have doors and not just for toilet spaces. Without a door - I would recommend the same flooring. I have the same flooring with a door.
