I purchased a queen-sized bed and a chest in their Elvis Presley line, and I love it. It was very well made, sturdy with beautiful woods. I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future. I hope this helps.

I have an Ethan Allen sofa, bookcases and coffee table bought maybe 3 years ago. Happy with all. Inside of the coffee table drawers says "Made in USA." I believe some parts of the sofa were made in USA and some were not. I could check the label if you really want to know. I also bought some American-made furniture recently from Stickley (made in NY) and Lee Industries (made in North Carolina). The Room and Board catalog tells you where their sofas are made in the US.

To start, I am in Interior Design with 15+ of dealing with furniture as low quality as Ashley to some of the higher end pieces in the world. I have owned several Bassett Pieces thoughout the years and they have held up fantastic! Unlike some of the comments on here I'd like to state that rougher you and your family is on furniture the shorter the life span. It seems like common sense, but I've seen it all. Bassett has 3 quality levels: Entry (2-5 years), Medium (4-8 years) and highest (8-15+). so if you're looking to cheap out, don't expect a lifelong sofa. I also cannot stress this enough, ALL FABRICS PILL, with the exception of the ugly microfiber(P.S. probably one of the worst materials to put on your sofa, btw). However, Bassett is very clear about the materials that go into making their fabrics. So either do research on material (cotton, linen, polyester, olefin, etc) or ask your sales person, I am sure they'd be happy to show you the contents of the fabric. Lastly, remember that most people on these theads usually are unhappy about something. so you're only seeing the negatives, because most happy customers do not leave reviews. I am leaving this honest review because I too have had a framing issue with one of my sofas, however I understand that some accidents may happen during transporting, and the furniture is HAND MADE people, no one is perfect 100% of the time. Are you? Please make a smart purchase, and take a deep look into your family and how they treat furniture before deciding what quality you want .

Let me preface this by saying I doubt anything is made as well as it was 50 years ago. The only two pieces of furniture that made it through my mom's move that she absolutely loved and had to have were her Bassett china hutch and her Bassett desk. Both in hard rock maple. I have and use both. They are both beautiful although the china hutch has little dents and bumps and bruises. My mom was a parapalegic and for most of my life was able to walk on crutches. She would stand up against it to prop herself up and the crutches would bang and scratch the hutch. I had thought about refinishing it but probably never will. All the bangs and bumps are special to me. So, I'd say the quality of Bassett furniture is exceptional. She put it through quite a lot. I know none of the other furniture I have could go through what that has. Luckily, I'm not as hard on furniture as she was. Does any company still do hard rock maple finish btw? I'd like to find a matching DR table and chairs.
