Fridge against wall - French door or bottom freezer fridge?

We are remodeling a home and are trying to fit a fridge against a wall, with 2-5” of clearance against the wall. I’m hoping to keep it closer to 2” so the counter on the other side has more space.

I’ve seen the manuals of single door (freezer bottom) fridges showing that the door clearance width is more than for the french door fridges. this makes sense because the door is longer than the two french doors individually.

However, i am trying to figure out if a french door fridge needs more clearance in practice. my thinking is that with a single door, a person can angle themselves slightly from the side, which enables the door to only open 90-100 degrees on the otherside. whereas with a french door fridge, the other french door is in the way, even if opened fully, whicb requires a person to stand more directly in the center. this causes the obstructed door to need to be open wider than the 90-100 degrees.

Any experience with the practical (not manual) width clearance between these fridges?
