Sofa is a decent size. Ottoman empire is too huge.

I think the art is too big also. I am going to replace the ottoman and am thinking of one 36 X 17 that I can use like a lounge on one end. What do you think of end tables/lamps. Want to move it towards transitional and eliminate some of the white.

The tall plant, light and the large ottomon are all making the sofa feel stunted. Keep your lines lower to lengthen the sofa by adding two end tables that are just below the arm height and similar in tonal range as the sofa. This will extend the look of the sofa and make it seem wider. Do not get a bigger painting as that one is about the biggest you should go.

I'd lower the art by about 1/2 the distance between it and the sofa. Then the 2 will read as a visual unit.

For an ottoman, I'd get a smaller-scale rectangular upholstered bench about 80% the sofa length. That will provide you extra seating when you need it, but act as a coffee table the rest of the time.

If you're moving away from white, what are you moving towards? For me, it's the builder-white walls that are the issue. If you can paint, that will make a huge difference. With the furnishings you currently have, I'd be looking at a wintry beach sort of colour scheme-- soft grays, taupes, beiges and blues.

A larger end table would help increase the mass on that wall. What you have is very small and spindly looking.

Add a window treatment on the tall window, or is that a door?

It is a window. There is also a big window in that room (pic attached). Can you give me an idea of what would look right?

Actually the walls are a silver (Seashell gray) and the floors are gray vinyl plank. It is very, very light though. Maybe the curtain idea would help. This is a vacation condo. My "real" house is very traditional and I am having a hard time adjusting to this mod look.

The art, floor lamp and ottoman are too big, so the sofa looks small in comparison. The small area rug accents the smaller size of the sofa, so delete it - looks like you have a larger area rug under it, so it’s probably not even necessary. The end table looks dinky, too, and just reiterates small. When you get things in the correct proportion, then add some color in your artwork, throw pillows, accessories. That will give the eyes something to look at instead of just neutrals.

Joyce thank you. Your ideas are great. What would you think of two hairpin leg ottomans upholstered in the same fabric as the sofa? I'm thinking art should be max 40 x 30. Cuttent one is 60" wide.

The ottoman or table has to be smaller to make the sofa look larger. Two ottomans are not going to help your situation.

Consider nesting tables.

Smaller ottoman. I'd opt for an actual coffee table instead of something upholstered so the upholstery doesn't compete with the sofa. That plant is gigantic and pretty cool, but I'd try to find a home for it in another part of your place and have shorter plant there instead.

Not a very defined entry but tv has to go on that wall.

I think room in general should be grounded/balanced with heavier chairs and the side table, tv should be mounted for safety and create a more interesting entrance with accessories.

You mentioned that tv can‘t be moved, but perhaps your supplier could provide options and then you could change layout. If interested, I‘d wait to make updates until floor plan is firm.

1. Try couch under window, create a focal wall with TV, your art above console and a large plant. 2. Couch facing tv on big wall.

In either of the above choices, try in different locations to see best configuration.

Very pretty. Do you plan to get new chairs? (did not read entire thread). Lamps are pretty but too short. Get a blue tray for the ottoman.

Yes, I definately plan to replace the "outdoor, actually" chairs.  This condo is 850 SF so everything has to be so perfect. I call it my tiny house. Not use to working with these proportions!

What if I put the lamps on risers?

Yes. I was going to suggest a stack of books (preferably all 1 color:blue)
