New flooring and a double vanity would be perfect. I wouldn’t touch a perfectly clean and functioning shower, especially if I planned on selling in a couple of years.

That’s what I’m leaning towards unless someone thinks if I spend around 1k on a new white shower it would make a big difference. But honestly- I don’t even know what showers cost or what’s involved. Yes I agree, definitely not our forever home.

I would replace the shower with white in a heartbeat. The floor looks in good shape and the white looks fresh and clean. A double vanity will give you more stirage so you can lose the tower shelves. Think about what you see when you walk through the door and right now the view isn’t very wecoming. I’d get some nicer, more decorative window coverings. If you have any kind of view out the window yet need privacy, maybe a bottom up sade that covers the lower part of the window but lets you see over the top could work. All things can be done on a budget. You can enjoy until you sell and it won’t be such an upgrade that the new owners would think they are wasting money on your improvements should they want to change things.

A lot will depend if there are a lot of these one-piece fiberglass bath/showers remaining in your location at your price point. If there are, I would do a simple update around it, and you could do something like an almond and white color scheme to pull in both colors. If most people are replacing it, I would replace it with whatever the neigbors are doing. You probably would not get another one-piece into the house, they usually need to be brought in during construction and it would have to be cut apart to remove it.

I didn’t even think about changing the window coverings that’s a great idea. The problem is that the window is street facing so it the blinds are closed 99% of the time. Do you have any ideas for more attractive coverings?

Can you open the blinds, pull them up and take a pic so we can see what is outside the window? If someone came up to the window and stood there, how high would their head be on that window? Trying to figure out if there is any wiggle room for an opening portion at the top where no one could possibly see in, at least in the daytime.

You'd be spending way more than $1k if you're thinking of switching out the shower, especially if it's not DIY, so I'd consider just saving the money unless it's something that you really want to redo and enjoy for yourself.
