Where should the backsplash stop?
Comments (13)Hello Everyone, We are truly grateful for all of the suggestions. This is been a difficult project, and several professionals have let us down, so the community support is a much-appreciated boost. I think my original posting might have been confusing, since it wasn't obvious there's supposed to be another 15" cabinet on the right, that will have the back cut to match the wall. Here's a photoshopped version of "installed" cabinets. This makes it a bit easier to see the different places one might choose to stop the backsplash. Thanks!...See MoreHO-HUM... Where would you start/stop backsplash?
Comments (13)I would consider using the BASE CABINET edge as your stopping point. You would have a little countertop edge sticking out from the backsplash and your uppers would stick out as well. Draw a line and see if you like it. One option (more expensive) would be to tile all the way to the edge of the corner and down to the baseboards. You might have enough scrap to make that happen. That way you won't even realize it is not lined up. good luck!...See MoreWhere to start/stop kitchen backsplash?
Comments (18)@Suzy - your kitchen looks amazing. What color silicone did you use for the joints between the backsplash and the countertop? @Joseph - I was thinking of extending it all the way up to the ceiling, but we've decided not too. Our kitchen is quite tiny. Thank you for the advice though, I appreciate it. @everyone - we have decided to leave the sides alone. No backsplash. Thanks again for your feedback and advice, and especially for taking the time to post pictures. You're all awesome :)...See MoreShould I take down my new backsplash?
Comments (44)Sometimes you have to be willing to accept a mistake and take a monetary loss. Been there, done that, with a shower ceiling done in expensive glass tile with too many colors. I reordered the tile in a pale/muted color and it worked much better. Lesson learned....See MoreMegan Coppola
