Help with kitchen backsplash ideas...stuck!
Comments (4)if you do the ivory tile next to a white countertop, it 's going to look dingy. possibly. If you want white, do a white. you have white cabs/white countertops. wouldn't make sense to do an ivory tile. are you doing Cloe? this is the cloe in the white. Zellige in a weathered white. this one you could probably use if you want a diff white color hard to say until you get samples and place them next to the countertop. what's the rush in choosing a tile? It's best to wait until everything is in, and then choose. this way you can set the samples against what's there, and view them in your own lighting. Ordering a complete batch and waiting, only to find out it's the wrong color, is expensive. just wait and gather samples. I love your selections. you may find another tile you like. wait. I waited one year to do my splash! (ok, a little too long. but I couldn't make up my mind) my kitchen is similar to your selections...See MoreHelp with kitchen backsplash ideas that don't clash with new floor
Comments (240)What a charming house! You've done great. I had somehow missed this thread up to this point, and I did not read all (or even a significant fraction) of the previous responses. I have a 1910 house and also don't like subway tile. But I wanted something that fit the era of the house. I ended up going with a simple (and extremely cheap) 4x4 white field tile capped with a contoured molding tile (that almost but doesn't quite match the field tile because I couldn't find a molding I like from the a manufacturer that did a 4x4 field tile that was 4x4 rather than 4.25 x 4.25. Adds to the charm). I have very few uppers, though. I think a 4x4 white (or gray, since you seem to think white is too stark) field tile with black or charcoal pencil liner would be cool. These all show a pencil liner with subway because that's what the popular kids are doing, but it would work as well with a 4x4 or other basic field tile....See MoreKitchen backsplash ideas?

Comments (5)Same quartz depending on where you might need seams; other wise neither of the other two -- something larger format. Also, what type of refrigerator will you have? -- if the door, or one of the doors is hinged on the right side, you may have issues opening the door fully with that wall/dead corner....See Morecjvl
