70s Exterior help
Comments (10)The house is actually pretty nice! But the foundation plants are overgrown and afraid of the lawn. Talk with a landscape designer. Ask for a multi-year plan that you can implement yourself (which will keep costs down). They will show you what to plant and where to plant it for best effect, taking into account the amount of maintenance you're comfortable with, your style, the lot, the house, etc. Right now the plantings are hiding your front door so your house appears unwelcoming-- as though the only way to get in is the garage. What you want is for the planting to frame the house and guide a visitor to the front door....See More70s or 80s contemporary paint or facelift
Comments (5)It is difficult to tell from the photo....is the roof dark brown? I am assuming so... Love your house! I wouldn’t paint the brick as I think it looks good with your cedar siding. You might experiment (via software) with really dark bronze black siding. That might make it more dramatic. SW Urbane Bronze 7055...See More70s contemporary exterior paint color
Comments (12)I actually like those lighter combos celery did. Right now the monotone is rather dreary. do the lighter tones and bring in some natural wood (cedar,,,maybe some slat wood, or address plaque or garage door,,,,,something mcm ) just to show you how adding some natural wood (or Hardie cedar siding) can really play up the mcm look) here are some color combos that all work w/the brick btw, these whites are not pink. they are just red undertones instead of a yellow or green. i really like the darker tones too...See MoreExterior help please, ugly 70's rock. offset with stucco or ?
Comments (13)Great Suggestions. thank you. Will definitely reduce trim to just around windows. Good suggestion. To change/remove the bay window would definitely require a contractor - would change the roof line. Will investigate this. I am definitely favoring removing the stone. The first painter recommended replacing the rock with stucco, instead of more matching siding, to give a bit of texture contrast. Painting everything white is on the list of possible colors. My husband favors steel/charcoal blue but with the brown roof, may not work. My major dilemma is trying to picture the changes. I have tried the free online tools to draw the proposed changes but the ones I tried are clunky. Here is a street view of the entire house....See Morestiley
