@houssaon. Thank you. Those rooms are both traditional but I’m not sure if that is just due to the furnature choices. Here is my inspirstion photo:

I think same wall and ceiling color works better for light colors. The color that you chose is rather dark and I don't think it will look good. It also doesn't need to be cloud white. Plenty of other whites to choose from. Your furniture/ flooring will decide more whether the room is traditional, not a white ceiling. One could even argue that your choice in wall color is traditional itself.

colornis from the BM Historic collection. Hoping that it will read more modern in my space and I think you made a good point about it being more about the furniture and less about a white ceiling.

I would do the ceiling white. Before you paint the entire room that color, please only do one wall, and see how it works with your carpet, since you are not changing out the carpeting. I am very sceptical, that the combination is going to look like you are wanting it too.

Ceiling ought to be white most of the time. If color is added to the paint, sparingly please.

In trying to find examples to help with your decision, I only found one room in that color that wasn’t traditional (and it so happened to be paired with Cloud White).

Paint the walls first to get a better sense of how much you like it, will it feel too cave like, how does it work with carpet and how does lighting affect the color. It will be a big job to lighten the ceiling after the fact, so be sure.

Usually, the paint for a bedroom is not selected until the bedding has been selected so there are no issues with matching later on.

I assume you are removing and replacing the wall-to-wall carpet because it doesn't work with the really golden color you selected.

I think a peaceful, deep tond neutral works great in bedroom as a backdrop for furnishings and bedding. But IMO your paint selection has too much color and not enough neutral.

You could paint the walls at full strength and go 25-50% saturation of the same color on the ceiling so it feels cohesive. You could pick a color on the same color strip or in the same color area.

I think it's more modern to go with the same color and you could make it work with the high ceilings to alleviate the feeling of a cave. Have fun please - no white ceilings :)

It should be the same color as the walls because of the geometry of the slope. I won't bore you with why but confident a white ceiling in that room won't feel right. (unless the walls are the same color of white)

There's no problem with white ceilings if you want the room to have good natural light. Losing that surface for light reflection can really change the appearance of a room.

IMO the same color on the ceiling does NOT raise the appearance of the ceiling.
