Comments (4)Bbbluz, I searched and found out that it is part of MWB.:-) His Avast interface is different than in Zep's link. But I was able to find the virus chest and there were no files listed..Both programs were updated this morning.... Thanks, Jean...See Morerunning malwarebytes scan while online
Comments (11)Operationally to use MB while surfing should not be a problem. However, isn't it a little counter productive to do so as we know that MB does not scan in real time? My thought is the potential is present to have a 'new" bug without warning or detection embed itself in an area of the H/D after it has already been scanned. The critter would not be detected until the next scan and thus in truth a user would not know for 100% certainty that the drive was clean. DA...See MoreThis website & Malwarebytes' Incompatibility
Comments (10)thunderboltlee- If you are using Firefox -- as I am -- you should just install the add-on AdBlockPlus and then add EasyList to it. It will make the ads go away, and -- though I can't guarantee it -- maybe Malwarebytes will quit responding that way if you block those ads. To add these things, go to the EasyList page (which has a link to AdBlockPlus), get AdBlockPlus installed, and then come back to add the EasyList subscription. All free, all fast to do. Here is a link that might be useful: EasyList...See MoreNew to using Malwarebytes
Comments (17)I don't know Loralee. The way Adblock Plus is behaving for you is not typical. Normally, you just add the extension and you're set to go. I'm not a malware removal expert but I suspect you're infected with adware. Maybe I'm wrong. In addition to Malwarebytes, have you used Adwcleaner and the Junkware-removal-tool? I would think, if your machine is infected, trying to mask the symptoms with an ad-blocker is not the way to go. (And might not even work) Removing the adware should probably be the first step. Then, after it's clean, you can fortify your defenses. WOT, Adblock Plus, a little extra caution(not fear). And just in case... a backup to roll back to. (Cheaper than taking it to the shop) I'm just a user though, the little bit I know is mostly due to having made mistakes in the past....See Moreshaxhome (Frog Rock, Australia 9b)
