Are you talking about the all-chrome ones (bugle shaped), the chrome globes, the brass globes, or some other? They have a lot of different pendants on their website and they're probably not all from the same manufacturer.

I do think that is a really cool recycling set up. As far as compost, after trying different methods for 30 years, I like this pivot out waste container the best. I used an old stainless stockpot on our counter for years and years then graduated to Norpro with filter (I loved the filter) and then to this. The lid lifts off when the door is swung open so there is no lid to deal with and to put down on the counter (my lids got pretty yucky at times.) I can usually get the door open with my pinky when my hands are gunky or are full of scraps. The weight of the pail is not on the door--the pail is supported by a bracket screwed into the cabinet itself. This one if made by Rev a Shelf. I don't find any problem with the plastic liner pail--no odor is retained as far as I can tell. There is no filter but the lid seems to keep the odors contained. I wouldn't want an in-counter system. It's too permanent. What if you decide to switch to something else (i.e. worms or whatever else is coming down the road)? A business friend put this type of system in 25 years ago and stopped using it after a couple of years (not because she stopped composting--she was an avid composter and gardener) and was stuck with the hole in her counter.

I'm a Downsview dealer in Kingston, ON and have been for 30 years. They manufacture beautiful high end kitchens. Yes, you do pay partially for the name. A few good points: They have state of the art finishing booths and their finishes are second to none. No custom cabinet maker working out of a garage can duplicate a DV finish, most manufacturers can not duplicate a DV finish. I have had clients take a key to some sample paint finishes and it has barely made a scratch. The drawer boxes are longer then most other manufacturers. They edge tape all sides of a shelf (most other manufacturers only edge tape the front) The plywood they use for their boxes is much denser then plywood used by lesser priced manufacturers. The cabinets come with a gasket seal around the whole edge not just a stick on plastic bumper. They make all of their own doors so you can pretty well get any look you want. Bad Points: Price Measure mistakes are a designer/dealer error not a manufacturer error. Missing pieces and wrong colours could also be designer/dealer error (maybe they ordered them wrong or forgot to order them?) Yes, Downsview uses a 3mm reveal on all doors and drawers. If you want to order concealed handles, decide this in advance so that the reveal can be made larger to accomodate (again - dealer/designer error)

Too vague to even begin to answer . Which design I see none , when you mention a particular item always post a pic here I for one do not want to go hunting to understand the choices.I just glanced at Mouser and there is IMO nothing contemporay about what I saw. I think we need a good idea of what the exact cabinets you want are for sure. I personally would do Italian made cabinets if I was looking for ultra contemporary so I need more info.
