Thank you Marylee. My problem is compounded by the fact that I have beige woodwork throughout the house that was here when we moved in. This problem is driving me crazy..

They seem very similar when I looked the colors up, so either would work to lighten the room. Unless you love the trim color, you can paint it a creamy white or or a very dark shade of the wall color for more drama. Don’t let the trim control the room. Show it who is boss!
