No to the bench for such a formal setting.

I agree, nobody likes to sit on a bench. It’s such a busy table you need to stay very neutral for the rug (if you absolutely have to have one), I’d just do the chairs exactly like the ones with the table in the picture. Too many different designs are going to be too much.

I agree the a bench doesn't seem to go with the more modern style of the table. Is there a reason you wanted to do a bench instead of just chairs?

Have you actually tried sitting by this table? While it is an interesting look, i dont believe you would be able to seat more than 2 people on each long side. Even seating at the ends look uncomfortable.

Thank you, all, for your comments. @cubby14, I was hoping to go with a bench, b/c I thought it would open up the space a bit more, as it's a smaller room, and introduce something a little extra to the furnishings. @blubird, I haven't, as the store doesn't have a brick and mortar location. I know that's a bit risky for many, but I've actually ordered much of my furniture online and so far it's worked out well.

Thanks, @BeverlyFLADeziner. The room's dimensions are 13' x 14'2" and on the other side of it is our foyer/entryway, so there's some space to view the dining room from there. Do you think this table would work in a space like that? Thanks again for your insight.

I can only talk from my experience, my dining room is 12' 10" x 15" and I have a table which is 42" wide with chairs on each side and a buffet table and it seems fine to me. Not really crowded feeling.

What style is your home? Are the other rooms going to be complementary to this unique table? The top is very busy - what is your flooring? rug?

I say no to all your choices. Why? You seem to want an Art Deco style, (dining table) but do not invest in anything that is not authentic. Keep in mind all mid century design is not the same.

The skinny leg chair will not mate with the table.

@jck910, I'd say my home's decor style is modern/contemporary with touches of glam. I have marble/stone table tops for my coffee/end tables in my family room, which is the adjacent room. Flooring is greyish lvp with the abstract rug pictured in the moodboard.

My husband just interjected an interesting idea of putting 1 of the diamond tufted chairs on each short end, 3 of the grey chairs (the actual ones pictured with the table) along one long side and the bench along the other long side. Would this work? Thoughts please?
