Comments (31)Here are some pics from Houzz that might give you some ideas. I love the blinds in the first on that hide the upper windows, but it's a pretty contemporary look. The interest on the ceiling along with the chandelier brings it down a bit. Comments (22)With what shows in your pics it seems you are somewhat of a minimalist...so i would be careful with any additions....curtains or drapes may look cramped in the space that is there for them....as is what is missing is a dramatic centerpiece for the table...something low and wide as the table seems a little tall for the chairs...i might remove the two chairs in the corners and have only 6 chairs...at the table ...again establishing a more roomy but minimal look... a runner in a thick textural material would be a nice contrast with all the hard surfaces....something organic,maybe,...like woven reeds or a thick handwoven African textile....since the light fixture is a row of lights...something soft in a fan shape would add to the contrast and will catch the eye....if the sky was the limit i would bring in fewer...but bigger...softer...more luxurious chairs ...to match the scale of the table and contrast with the table’s simplicity......See MoreDining room feature wall needs some drama
Comments (12)Hang the painting centered 5' above the floor on the wall opposite the window. Replace the brass light with a larger one that has some French flair and hang a mirror to reflect/double it. It should hang about 32" above the table. I would upgrade the lights in the foyer/stairwell too. Those seem very 1980's in style. Drapes would be a plus, as would a rug under the table. A sideboard would look good under the painting/bulkhead. Then lower the painting to 5" above it....See Morejsm22
