suggestions needed for large format tile with off-center drain

Hi desperate for expert advice on how to cut/lay tile in a small “wet” room with off-center drain. We understand diagonal cut lines will likely be necessary for proper drainage but would like to find a way to minimize the cuts and make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

Challenges per my GC include “the large format tile needs to be cut for the space and the slope, the curbless shower floor which must meet the floor outside the shower at level, as well as not slope too high that it arrives at the door higher than the hall floor. The diagonal cut floor pattern ensures that the tile is level at the outside edge all the way around, which not only meets the floor outside at level, but meets the shower tile wall at level. Any other design will create tile lippage and doesnt meet the floor outside the shower or the shower walls at level.”

This tile is already purchased and delivered. One option is to change to a linear drain (to take place of current square drain) but we would not gain a single plane/slope to drain.

The first photo attached is the initial “botched” attempt at laying the tile. GC says this is the only option forward but with a center to drain seam and more consistent grout lines/spacing. The second photo is how we would like to see it finished but GC says it is problematic bc our drain is off-center. Also important to know this is in a high rise building with drain set into concrete slab so their is no option to shift location to true center.

Should we just accept the loss and buy different tile?
