Geez, now I had to say goodbye to Bud!!

Tom, Roxie and Bud.....all in 3 years.

Tuesday night Bud vomited his dinner and constantly afterwards. Stress, panting, dehydrated not eating or drinking. I locked him in the bathroom and checked on him constantly (bare floor). I took him to the vet in the morning and they put him on fluids.

They have a new policy.....not overnight stays, so I had to pick him up and take him to an emergency clinic where they monitored him overnight. More $.

His potassium levels were low and he was weak, so they gave him that.

I picked him up this morning, and took him back to the regular vet so they could keep him on fluids and monitor him. She called saying that when they took him off the potassium drip he crashed.

I told her that he was sleeping on the way to her clinic this morning.

This was all sooo sudden. He was his usual self all along, jumping on the couch, racing me down the stairs while I get the paper, etc etc.

She said he felt his kidneys and he was in pain (no sign of that at home at all). She took a mini ultra-sound and saw 2 growths, masses whatever.

This was how Roxie died. Just one day she quit eating and drinking, and the clinic kept her over the weekend and gave her fluids, and were drawing blood. The last blood draw there were very little red cells in it, very pale, so they deduced she had cancer of the stomach lining. I fully expected this with Bud since his came on so quick too.

So for the first time ever, I'm completely alone. He was such a cool dude!
