Bathroom Fan Exhaust Ductwork

I'm remodeling two bathrooms which share a common wet wall. The house is a 46 y.o. single story so the bathroom windows are small but there's plenty of attic space. I'm installing identical exhaust fans in each. The specs are below.

Because of the proximity, I'm planning on running the ductwork out to a west-facing gable wall, about 6' away. Installation and wiring are not a problem. My concerns are as follows:

In my locale, the prevailing winds are out of the west. Is there a special exhaust hood that I should consider to insure I don't get blow back?

Should I consider installing a cape dampener?

Is it practical to merge the ductwork, at some point, so I'll utilize a single exhaust hood?

If the merge is done, is there a particular distance from the fan(s) where the wye should be inserted; should consideration be made to insure that one fan's exhaust does not reverse back into the other fan's duct?

Thx in advance!
