Congrats on your baby! I would not paint the cabinets. I think they actually go well with the counters. i would repaint the walls as the grey color is too cool for the warm colored cabinets, the counter and the floor. Look at something like Sherwin Williams Canvas tan - a good neutral but not overly warm. I would then do a backsplash - again something in the off white slightly warm range. I would also get rid of the curtain and either leave the window blank or wood blinds. A new pendant light and cabinet hardware would work wonders here too.

I agree with @Caroline Hamilton. Keep the cabinets the way they are. The granite is fine and already has a 4" backsplash. No need to rip out the granite backsplash to replace it with another one.

Change the sink window's curtain to something you love. Add a matching curtain over the door if one will fit gracefully.

Paint the walls warm white, cream, beige, or tan.

Agree with above. When choosing your new paint, consider eggshell instead of semigloss: washable but less institutional looking.

A sledgehammer is the only upgrade that stone really needs. Its completely unsellable even if you get it off without breaking. But you can get out your frustrations pretty well with that sledge, moving blankets, and some safety glasses.

Can we get a couple photos during the daytime with those curtains over the sink open or gone please? It would be nice to see what kind of natural light you are getting. And those curtains are not helping your decor situation, you might want to consider changing that out for something lighter/brighter that can allow in natural light as possible.

What is going on with your lighting situation? I can tell there is a bright daylight kind of bulb from above, but what is the light fixture? How does the light over the sink light up? You might want to consider changing out your current lighting for something more. Also, consider putting in under cabinet lighting. You could do above lighting too to project light up the walls since you got space above to work with there.

The shiny grey paint isn't good- go for something warmer. Creams, yellows, soft greens or mellow browns/rusts could work. Aso, go for something with less gloss.

Don't mess with your cabinets yet- make some other changes first and see how that shapes things up.

Yes I HATE the colors they choose for the wall (painted the whole house this color) and they had those curtains as well we’ve only been here a year and I found out I was pregnant a few weeks after moving in so I haven’t done anything. There’s lots of natural lighting in the kitchen and living room. This is the window without the curtain and with curtain open will probably end up getting different colored curtains until I decide to renovate down the road then I’ll go for the expensive nice blinds. It’s a little gloomy outside so typical San Diego morning but still lots of light entera

I was also looking into lightening under the cabinets as someone suggested never thought about the top! Maybe use top lightening to display decor

The first one is above the sink lights up on its own warmer than the top lights but on the whiter side.
