I would do some curtain panel or something to add some softness and texture. Also a large artpiece on the wall behind the table to bring some color and interest in.

would it serve better purpose for the chairs to face the dining room? seems like they are not part of th conversation if you wil. Is the rest of the ouse monochromatic as well?

Agree that the panels will add some warmth in this room. ( ignore the painting on the floor - not sure where it’s going). The colours on the wall throughout the house are neutral as I have lots of bright artwork that fills the walls… except ran out for this room!
I will try the chairs turned - the slanted dividing half wall threw me a bit.

Full curtain panels; 2 to 2 /12 width of window. Do the front window the same way to connect the two areas. Linen type tie on chair cushions to soften and cozy up the table.

Tall large vase with something big and full in it for the dining table.

The back wall might be fun in an accent color; you could also paint a design on the wall with bit wide stripes going in all directions in a very pale blue, grey, cream to relate to the area rug under the table; google on Houzz or look on You tube for how to's. You need big stuff to fill the room.

Bright color on the wall, patterned curtains, cushion on chairs, big bowl and plant and candles on the table; cozies up the room, although this is a very traditional room, it has similar color and lines of your dining table and similar window size and rug on floor blends with curtains.....just a visual if you will.

If you changed the light I would want something with more volume rather than linear and low.

The more important the light fixture becomes, the less you can see the art on the wall behind it. It's tricky!

I think sometimes in a room of the scale if you are a bit larger and hang a bit higher it brings a new level to the space
