I always use my ipad. Sometimes I wonder how many minutes of my life have passed by waiting for my typed comments to appear. Sometimes I am two sentences ahead and then it suddenly catches up. Spell check is useless and for some reason words show up twice. It’s a good thing I like you all because otherwise I would give up on this site.

Yes, I've had problems using houzz on my iphone-so aggravating how it freezes up and takes forever to catch up! I TRY not to use it-takes too long and the auto predictive drives me crazy too, but it is quicker when it works correctly, so I keep it on.

I use the app on my iPhone BUT…it is so limited.

The website has so many more features (editing, replying to another poster, etc)

Also, the app cuts off comments.

It’s annoying.

I have lots of difficulty — iphoneiPhone, ipadiPad, whatever Apple.

It often doubles what I type. See above. I seldom post or respond bc it is such a PIA. ItsIt’s painful and to have to keep correcting. It’s laborious.

If I attempt to use the dictation feature of Apple iphone or ipad. i get scrabble, concatenated, alphabet repeated words, letters, characters.

I have to type or dictate into NOTES, then copypasta to the Houzz forum page.

See how much it gets mixed up? My device is new, with lots of dynamic memory. The problem is with HOUZZ.

I turned off my phone’s predictive text and auto correct and refreshed my dictionary and no more issues. It is an apple problem not houzz issue in my case at least.

It's iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Houzz, that combo. I have zero problems with my MacOS devices (MacBook, iMac) at Houzz. I have zero problems with my iOS devices on other sites. It's both maddening and sometimes hilarious. If I have a sentence or two, I'll tough it out. If I have more to say, like right now, I will switch devices so I don't blow a gasket.

@roarah, I'm interested if turning off predictive text and autocorrect and refreshing your dictionary fixed everything once and for all. Were you able to turn predictive text and autocorrect back on and everything worked as it should?

I have tons of keyboard issues on my iphone on many other sites, gmail and on my searches if my predictive type and auto correct are on. I have no issues on my work issued galaxy phone or chrome-book… There are tons of apple keyboard complaints on google sorry but this is not a houzz only issue it is an apple terrible flaw.

It works long term if I keep those settings off. After updates I need to manually turn them off again.

I only use my iPad for GW. I also had issues like Ded. To get around it, I would submit what I had thus far. Then I'd go back in to continue. More often than not it would continue without a hitch.

Yep it's horrible. Unlike @roarah I can use any Apple device anytime anywhere on any site and never ever have I had a problem in all these years. Only this past year on Houzz. It's only on my iphone not on my Macbook Air. So it isn't an " Apple" device problem per se. My iphone works perfectly on every other site I am on. c

Ya, I can't post a new message to this forum from my iphone but I can from my ipad. I also have the weird typing delay. I also don't have a problem with anything but Houzz so I don't view it as an Apple problem. Apple is far more technologically capable than Houzz.

I use an iPad. I do a lot of editing once I’ve typed my comment. Often I delete large portions. I used to delete by highlighting the portion I wanted to delete, then hit Delete. Now, if I try to highlight any portion of the text, the screen will suddenly start scrolling up. I cannot highlight to delete nor can I highlight to link another site.

Not on here, but yesterday on iMessages, when I sent a message to my daughter, between each word, this icon was inserted 🤦🏻‍♀️. Neither🤦🏻‍♀️of🤦🏻‍♀️us🤦🏻‍♀️could🤦🏻‍♀️figure🤦🏻‍♀️out🤦🏻‍♀️ why. Fortunately, it only did it for one comment and then cured itself!

On my iPhone at Houzz I can't get double-space to result in a period. It works fine on FB and MS Word, neither of which are Apple products.

Yes. Some times are worse then others. There are also times when my iPad is screwier then my iPhone. Makes everyday an adventure.

I thought I needed a new iPad. I get the freezing problem, and the double word problem, so frustrating, I am not logged on on my phone or MacBook, which are newer devices.

I have all the same iphone problems as listed. On my macbook, which I use most often for this site, if I try to copy text (like to quote someone) and paste it into a new reply, I get an error message. That is in firefox, but if I go to chrome it will work. In firefox, if i type a comment, I cannot get any paragraphs using the return key; if I try to edit or sometimes if I try to add photos, the whole comment will disappear. VERY frustrating.
I cannot bold or underline text in firefox, so have to remember to switch to chrome (which I really dislike using). The wonkiness of predictive text on my iphone is the worst, because if you are used to using it, it's so automatic that I don't notice I'm using it. Then when I proofread my text before posting, it's all mumbo jumbo.

Yes to the iphone and ipad! I usually use my ipad and have to edit like crazy because there is no autocorrect and no punctuation. And those periodic freezes drive me crazy. Didn’t becomes didnt, and on and on it goes.

On my iphone i have to re-sign in every single time too too. (see how i left those too’s in there so you can see how those double words happen!).

I will apologize here because sometimes i give up correcting the non-capitalized i’s. I miss many of them and get tired of all the corrections.

One would think, after all this time, Houzz would attempt a fix. I get the distinct feeling they (a) dont know how), (b) dont give a gnats butt, and/or (c) dont value their readership and forum users.

Glad it’s not just me! I don’t tend to get on my computer during the week so I’ll keep popping in and out😉

Yes! I traded in my iPhone 8 for a 13 last week, and still the same. I don‘t have issues on my Mac.

I have various problems on my Android, and different ones that keep changing, on the iPad.
