Hi pluckymama Yes the range I saw Saturday had been ordered by someone else and somehow it was not taken so became available. This buyer found it on the AC reserve list. This buyer was just finishing her house -- new build -- and had been living in it since September but hadn't really been cooking. I found the size of the Cluny ovens to be just right for me and not a surprise as I knew the measurements from the AC site. The ovens are basic-- they have a smooth black enamel interior. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I had noticed that the inside of the door on the warming cabinet seemed different -- like a bright steel finish? This was from glimpsing the interior of the warming cabinet in the little video in which the cookbook author Diane Morgan gives a tour of her kitchen -- she has a huge Sully? or Fontenay? stainless with chrome -- it is on the AC site in the Archives photos. The heating elements in the electric oven on the Cluny seemed small. The burners were gorgeous and had a beautiful even flame and instant ignition. The Cluny has a beautiful design and proportions. Even DH was impressed. I will talk to Chelsea about the racks. Since I am now past the August 1 price increase, I am not in a rush to place the order and feel I should do due diligence and check out other options. But I just loved the Cluny.

Hi Everyone, Today my husband and I visited a Lacanche Cluny in Terra Cotta in Los Angeles. It was not hooked up so no burners were in action. However, it was clearly brand new and gorgeous. The quality of Lacanche is obvious in person. Cavendish Grey carries high end antique flooring and architectural features, much from Europe. We asked about pricing of their chevron and herringbone flooring....very French - ooooo la la! I suggest that interested people contact Art Culinaire first at 800-570-2433. They guided me away from their "ambassador program" and directed us to CG instead. Cheers

Hi Megs1030, I have the Chagny 1400, which is like the Cluny except it has the added smaller oven (which gets used all the time for roasting veggies, etc.). I use the warming drawer almost everyday. It is great for keeping prepared foods warm, slow cooking, and Sous vide cooking of meats. I do not find the smaller ovens an issue. No, I do not bake cookies directly on the pasty sheets. Cookies and everything else bakes wonderful in the smaller ovens. I use the gas oven for roasting meats. Turkey (18 lbs) fit and roast beautifully. As for sliding items in and out of the ovens, that depends on the pan. If the ovens had the telescoping oven racks it would be easier, but the range has so many other great qualities that I do not mind not having telescoping racks. We all have different cooking styles, I would suggest you contact Art Culinaire. The company has excellent customer support. They are the most wonderful group to work with. They can put you in contact with a range owner, so that you can experience the range first hand. Which for me was great. Seeing the range in a kitchen, experiencing how to use it first hand, really help me make my decision to purchase. Good luck.
