I don't think you should cover up that window. I'm going to do something similar in my living room. I plan to mount the TV monitor on a corner wall with a bracket that swings out. That way I can angle it toward the audience as needed but push it back up against the wall when we aren't watching.

Get a smaller tv

I'm not sure I would consider it tacky to have a TV in front of the window, but good lord 80"? That is large to have it look good in most settings.

I have an 80” tv, but its in a media room, its way too big for my great room. i have a 65” Frame tv over my fireplace. My husband would have plastered a giant one over the FP if he could lol.

If you want suggestions that are useful then supply all the info on the room. We're missing a few walls that could be locations for the TV.

If you do, post the dimensions and the furniture you will be using in the room. There may be another spot for this tv......All I have to say is, Men and their TVs lol

We have an 80” TV over the fireplace in our great room, but the fireplace wall is entirely brick so it helps break up the huge expanse. 80” teevees are great for watching sports and movies with the fam!! That said, if your chimney is narrower than 80”, it’ll probably look best off to the side.

It would be a challenge to make a huge tv look good in a room with such beautiful large windows and casings and a built in. Is there a big blank wall anywhere?

Instead of making the house work with the TV, make the TV work with this lovely home and get a smaller TV. I mean, a beautiful window with a big TV and throw off the symmetry of the two windows? If there's "enough" wall on the right, put the TV there, then float a sofa/sectional so that one side faces the fireplace and the other "L" or upholstered chairs face the TV. Please stand with your back to the fireplace and show us your right wall and entryway. There's not nearly enough visual info or measurements to generate good suggestions.
