More art for sure. Was going to suggest a sideboard so you can place lamps on it and other accessories, and art above, but you already have the bar area and the other tall storage unit so got enough furniture in already. How about moving the art that's on the chimney breast wall and then adding a mirror in it's place?? A big ound mirror to create some curves in a room with a lot of straight lintes already.

Thanks so much for suggestions everyone, really appreciate your help. I was worried there would be too much art going on but now I’m thinking I need an extra sized abstract art on there, it’s such a big blank space to have even a picture the size of my one above on the chimney wall. The print on the chimney wall is quite a stand out print too so I’m struggling to think what would work on this wall without taking away the impact of the chimney print 🤔

I know what you mean re the mirror but I really love that print on the breast wall and bought it specifically for there and think it looks great but as nuts quite a stand alone price I’m now wondering whether a large art print would work out n the other wall? Was also thinking about wall panels perhaps?

I agree with CWD and you could swag a pendant if the joist is in the way (table looks as if it could move a few inches left though?)

The only thing about a large piece of art, is that it won’t align with the table? I’ve tried fluted panelling which i think is what you meant (?) and also a skinny plant if it fits. Apologies for the bad photoshop and it makes the art look a bit funny with the camera angle!

Oh yes thanks I like the plant idea 😀 Can never have too many plants! I like both types of panelling I was thinking just creating minimal panelling, nothing too over traditional and then paint over it in same colour to add texture to that wall as it has nothing against it so looks so bear. As it’s our walk way into the living room Kitcehn via that door I didn’t want to block that side off too much as we have 7yr old twins who love to run riot so needs to be functional too

If the bench isn’t in constant use, i really like it on the left maybe with a throw/cushion on it plus it looks to leave a good size corridor? If it is in constant use the the bench also looks much better on the right to give a bit more balance. Lovely house!

Thank you! You have all inspired me, this is great! To be honest the bench was for the kids so we didn’t have have sticky fingers on velvet chairs! ( we couldn’t get the leather look ones we wanted in lock down due to supply so had to opt for these as we needed some as was Christmas and had no chairs! ) These were not my first choice but I guess now I prefer them there than the bench as it evens the room out more and I’m not so over precious about sticky fingers now ha!

Really smart space. My suggestion would be a gallery wall of framed black and white photos that are meaningful to your family.

I love @kates suggestion of black and whilte meaningful prints but I think inclination would be would be more art work, I would find something you love and perhaps see if it can tie in with the art you already have. I would have two pieces or one large piece.

You’ve had some great feedback there, including rearrangement of your chairs and bench. You could consider painting the wall the same colour as the feature wall in your lounge, then add one large colourful piece of art or if you prefer the meaningful photo gallery as previously suggested. You’ve done a great job so far.

A long statement pendant hung lower will make a big difference. I like your grey & blue in the living room - I would try & bring these colours over to the dining room end to build cohesion.

I love your space and the existing pendant.
Another picture might be an overkill though. Do you think a tall plant and a statement mirror will work? Anything elegant and pretty, like Ferm living Pond mirror, or any other shape you like?

I would go for a large piece of artwork.  It would be more interesting than a mirror. Also like the ideas for a plant.
