Kohler farmhouse vs. Shaw farmhouse sink
Comments (5)I’ve had a 30” Shaw at a second home for 10 years and still love it but decided on the 33” Kohler Whitehaven for our new kitchen reno at home - it was such a price difference and looked so similar. I actually like it better! I especially like the slight slant of the bottom to the offset drain. Much easier to rinse scraps into the disposal. It’s still new but it does seems like the Kohler finish is easier to keep clean. We removed the Kohler logo (which was crooked anyway) so it’s just all white and looks great!...See Morefireclay farmhouse sink owners...
Comments (21)We have a 30" Shaw's for over 2 years. I love it. I love having the sink so close to me. I bought it local so I could bring marbles with me to see how it drains. I rejected the 1st two. It's still not perfect but much better than the others. No scratches but we have the grid. My DH curses it (since he's the one that cleans it all the time) but I love it. The grid is great - it also gives me another drying rack for dishes....See MoreAny reviews for the Blanco Cerana farmhouse fireclay sink?
Comments (5)I installed this sink about 5 months ago and am very pleased with it. I have the contemporary side facing forward to go with my fairly contemporary kitchen (white Shaker cabinets; bar pulls). Make sure your installer has worked with these types of sinks before. I have had a Rohl Shaw's sink in my main residence for about 12 years. It is a more traditional look than my Blanco Cerana. And it was installed poorly to accommodate a kitchen drawer that would not have opened if it had been installed properly. And since I knew very little back then, I depended on the contractor, who never told me about the drawer issue and just installed the sink so the drawer next to it could open. None of that will concern you, however!...See MoreKitchen Sink Advice: Stainless farmhouse or stainless undermount?
Comments (65)After getting the sink installed I'm regretting not purchasing a self-trimming apron front sink instead. When the contractors cut the cabinet, it left a small gap around the sink edges (and a few chips too). The contractor says they'll cover it with scribe molding so you won't see it, and hopefully that will resolve the issue. Wonder if other folks here with this sink or similar ones have had the same issue?
