Need pics of tan sofas in lighter tan rooms.
Comments (4)Thanks Deeinohio. Not sure which room you are thinking has round windows?? The livingroom is narrow so we chose a set that is not too big and will look for a chair that will fit the spot you see in the pic on the other side of the stair rail, there is a plant there in the pic. I kinda agree with you about not doing a rug in the diningroom for same reason you mention. Also, to make the rugs fit the rooms properly they would practically touch. And when the table is extended the end chairs would not be on that rug. We also thought of maybe putting another color in the recessed area behind the tv and flanking the insert. Maybe a more chocolate shade. We are open to doing another color in the familyroom for the sofas but cannot think of any that we think we will like for a long time. I just had a thought... I could get some slipcovers in other colors and use them to see if they look good in the room. I like red but really don't think I would like it forever. We lived with the current sage because it was cheap and we needed something immediately. As for room sizes. We layed out with paper the sizes of the pieces we are considering. They will fit fine. The family room is actually really big, the formal living room is narrow so for that room the size is really going to be important. We are chosing more contemporary styles, nothing bulky or puffy....See MoreArticle Leather Sofa - Timber Charme Tan
Comments (8)Old post but still critical: On the single sided upholstery: 1) yes its by far and away the most common way leather is upholstered. True literally no matter who makes the couch. This says absolutely nothing whatsoever about quality. Single sided upholstery is the standard whether its a Chinese Coaster or Home Elegance sofa sold at Walmart for $500.... a Vietnam/India/Chinese sofa made for Article, EQ3, West Elm, Pottery Barn or CB2.... or a $4,000 leather sofa manufactured by American Leather in Texas for Room and Board..... or an $8500 leather sofa manufactured in North Carolina for Restoration Hardware.... or a $15,000 leather sofa manufactured in Italia or Germany for BB Italia/Minodi/Roche Bobois/Poliform/other simarly super high priced stuff. 2) No iCustomSofa. Its not about ventilation. Its not about sliding. It is always always always about cost. both ventilation and sliding have easy, simple, straightforward solutions. If it was truly about those phenomena, then vinyl or PU sofas would similarly never have double sided upholstery. They ALWAYS do. Seriously go talk to Jonathan Louis about that horrific ultrasuede (its PU) that they sell for people with cats. Double sided. 3) Why do people believe that American Leather is "good quality" or "good craftsmanship"? AL is not an example of quality per se If they are an example of anything it is high consistency high efficiency.... "low cost for the particular product". Domestic leather furniture. In that sense they are pretty cheap and sell a reasonably good product. They achieve that through extensive use of garbage foam, plywood/engineered hardwood, and just extremely judicious use of leather. Other than their sleepers. Now JL furnishings is out of business, AL has the only specialized premium sleeper on the market (JL used to make a directly competing "Elite Leather" sleeper that was better than the AL sleepers)...See MoreOttoman to go with Article Timber Oxford Tan Couch

Comments (6)This off topic, but I thought I’d mention it. I have a vintage caramel leather chair from pottery barn that I had near a window. It was a rich creamy caramel colour and the change was so gradual I didn’t notice it until several months later. The light really does a number on leather and areas where the light/sun hit the chair has lightened the leather a lot. Those parts are more a grayish caramel and I wish I’d noticed it sooner. I’ve moved the chair away from the windows but the damage is done. Just a heads up since you said you wanted to put your couch in front of the window....See MoreRelated Professionals
