What kind of handle or pulls did you use in bathroom?
Comments (7)I'm using a very classic looking polished nickel pull on my cabinets and the one drawer in my bathroom. I'm thinking of using knobs on the upper cabinet rather than pulls, just to have something a little different (the upper cabinets literally are right on top of the drawer, this is a linen closet), but not certain yet. I need to look at pictures. I'm worried that people will get their clothing "hooked" on the vertical pull, but then, you can get hooked on a knob too. Perhaps I'll have another quarter inch put on the granite countertop so that we don't lean towards the cabinets quite as much. I'm going for a more traditional look, my feeling is that "no hardware" is more contemporary looking. I bought my pulls at Lowes. They are lovely, so bright and shiny....See MoreCup Pulls: Knob on 5 piece TOP Drawer Vs. Using Slab Drawer?
Comments (21)My cab maker said our top drawers will be 4 3/4" and with rails there will be 1 3/4" space in between for hardware. Springroz has 3" space in between and Christine has 6" drawers with 3" in between. That could be the difference. Out of our 26 drawers, only 8 are small top drawers so maybe I should do slab on those. Looking back I do like the look for the top drawer. I was just "scared" that without a bead they may be too plain but I think with everything else that goes on in a kitchen it will probably look great anyway! Just making sure with cab maker all the top drawers are 4 3/4" before I make a final decision : )...See MoreShow me your drawer pulls on big drawers, please
Comments (2)I am using 6" pulls on my shaker drawers. But where the drawers are 36", I am using two, just feel like I need to, although I probably don't lol.......See MoreHow to do drawer pulls on 36" drawers?
Comments (13)My experience with using 2 pulls on a wide drawer has not been good. So for this kitchen I will only be using 1 pull per drawer. When you have 2 pulls on a drawer, it takes two hands and often you already have something in one hand. Or, if you just use one of the 2 pulls to open the drawer, it creates stress to the drawer on one side, and also the pull will loosen over time from being asked to pull the entire drawer open from one side. As a result, I am using 1 pull for my drawers. I am using different sizes. Just my taste, but I don't like all one pull size for the entire kitchen. I have read about the 1/3 rule, and the pulls I am choosing, the Top Knobs Princetonians, have many sizes. When deciding between two sizes that both fit roughly the 1/3 rule, I get the smaller one. The wider pulls are expensive, but as a percentage of the cost of my entire reno which is multi-thousands, I am spending about $450 for my pulls. The majority of mine are the 11-11/32" size which are about $13 each. I am getting 4 different sizes in all (includes 2 pulls that are 15" long hung vertically for pull-out pantries). I don't think it's that bad to spend a couple hundred more to get the size that looks good. The pulls really make a difference to how the entire kitchen looks....See MoreNikki Kelch
