Please, explain the proper recessed placement
Comments (3)One-half of the can should be over the counter while the second half is over the floor area. This allows you to get lighting on the counter and down the cabinets and the floor. Depending on which fixtures you are using you then space them as needed (75 watt floods are usually every 4' on center) around the counter area. After you have configured this, you go to where they are then needed in order to illuminate the rest of the kitchen. Is there an island? Are you hanging pendants or a fixture that will illuminate the rest of the kitchen, etc. This is all pertinent information as to how many more recessed lights you will need....See MoreBaby grand piano and living room furniture placement
Comments (48)Definitely leaning towards neutrals, as this is the color scheme of this entire level of the house. All walls are BM cloud white. All windows have black curtains. Flooring is the same gray/taupe hardwood throughout. I was thinking caramel brown leather to pop out on that black shiplap wall, but may be too pricy for 4 chairs. Definitely don't want anything traditional or fussy (which I KNOW goes hand in hand with the mahogany piano but alas I cannot change that lol!) Furniture in the adjacent rooms is cream/gray/wood. I'll upload a picture when I get home to give an idea...See More"Proper" placement of framed art in Dining Room
Comments (14)IMO it does not go on that wall unless you are planning on removing that trim which BTW is too tall for that space and proportion with the door if the trim was like a chair rail then that wall would work. As it is no way so maybe just some nice wall sconces or a very wide low piece of art.much more horizontal...See MoreProper placement for front porch stairs
Comments (15)You could go either way, but the purpose of the stairs are to lead to the door IMO, hence the steps should align with the door. I would make stairway narrower so if door is 36" for example consider stairway of 60" centered to door. This would give more space for pillars to show more prominently there too without the railing blocking pillar. Then you can landscape nicer on each side of stairway....See MoreFori
