Grey walls in the bedroom seems so dreary to me.

Why not do a nice off white , that will go very nicely with your pretty rug, and you can get large Euro pillows for the bed and get pillow covers in any color/colors you like, the same for a throw for the bed.

Use a color from your rug. If you're expecting to be selling in the near future use a neutral. If you'll be there a while you can be more adventurous. If you're referring to SW Peppercorn for the wall where the bed is, that is a really dark color so your bed would disappear against it. Not a good way to highlight a beautiful piece of furniture.

My guess is the bars are acting as rafter ties (to keep the roof from spreading at the bottom under gravity loads).

I think jade would look fab.

I'm not sure exactly what shade you have in mind when you say jade.

I’d keep it neutral and paint the ceiling to match it.

you mentioned color for resale but currently have the bright Yam color? lol.

regardless, paint color on the walls should be suited to what you want, not what future buyers may want. No house was ever NOT sold because of a funky wall color in the bedroom!

I love the bed.

The bed linen could use a bit of a lift. Or maybe you have those pillows on the ground that are normally there?

The nightstands? can you tidy up a bit so we can actually see what you have?

I didn’t paint this room and actually bought this house sight unseen (relocation) based on size, location & style. I’m not sure if I will relocate back anytime soon. Thanks for your responses!

Beth — You’re right about the bench… I love the one you have suggested! It’s a 30’ x 20’ room, and since it’s last to be redone, it the most untidy. Right again! I actually have a red RH maxwell couch in here along with a peloton. And yes, I need window treatments.

you'd need some diff bedding. I do like what they have on this one. but I'd do some gold lamps to go w/your light

I really like Calm and how it plays off the zinc along with the bench. i still havent posted a full photo, but i plan to move this multi rug out, and either get a rug like you suggested (i love the clean look it gives) or stick with the 1780 plank floors! Thank you Beth

I love gray bedrooms I find them very restful This is one of my faves for sure but I usually pant walls in a bedroom after choosing bedding so is what you show what will be your bedding. I have no idea why the emerld unless there is some of that somewhere in the space . I love drapes in bedrooms they give a feel of luxury and also work well for light control. BTW you need much larger lamps and IMO the bench is too small for the scale of the bed . Unless you get a huge rug I actually prefer nice small ones on either side of the bed I even often use sheepskin ones for a really cozy place to put your feet. Can you take a better pic of the whole space ?

Well, I guess I need to restate. I find dark grey dreary.

Light greys are okay.

I love cool whites that some people read as grey, cool light blues and cool light lilacs that people read as grey, cool platinum, etc.

I don't know if I would do all grey as Patricia Coldwell suggests, but if you like it go for it.

The main thing is that whatever you do, do it well.

You could make that a "look", that goes deco-ish or Hollywood Glam if you like, or you could add some great wood pieces to warm up the grey too.

I will post a better photo when i can clear out some boxes soon.

Patricia— great suggestions! i do have larger lamps, and agree about the rugs…

i should have the trim painted white, right right? While the ceilings are high, the windows are only 8.’ Is that too low for drapes? I will ask more when i post better photos!
