What color do I paint my vaulted ceiling? Need help!
Comments (4)Are you adding trim molding? I like color on the ceiling, esp if it's vaulted. So I would paint manchester tan on all but the accent wall and continue it up around the angled part of the ceiling on all sides. Then paint the accent wall the greenbrier beige and paint the flat part of the ceiling the same color. It would look great if you have molding to break up the areas painted in the simply white to offset the areas. That may be too much for you so you can just paint the simply white on the flat and angled portions of the ceiling and then paint the walls manchester tan with the greenbriar beige accent. I'd suggest going to houzz.com and searching on tray ceilings so you can get some ideas of how they are treated with paint....See MorePaint question for North Facing Bedroom vaulted ceilings
Comments (6)Here are pics of why I need to change the color. I took these around 10 am in the morning on a sunny day .Hard to capture cathedral ceilings but was trying to show my dilemma with dark corners and that the color brightens in some areas but not others. I took pics with no flash. The sun rays were coming in with the one pic where it looks cloudy but it really doesn't affect much lighting wise. Click on each pic to open to full pic. The first one is leading into my master bathroom which is bright and is a south facing bathroom with pocket sliding doors....See MoreVery small bedroom. Need paint color suggestions.
Comments (14)First of all, do you want to keep the wood tone on the walls OR go with a light color such as light blue or even white? Nothing brightens up a room and brings in the outdoors as these two colors do. If you go with white paint on the walls, I would suggest you paint the ceiling a neutral light blue to bring in the color of the lake and the sky. Then, you might add a bedspread in a royal blue and white window pane plaid with large white squares inside the royal blue grids and complete the look with sheets and pillow cases in the light blue of the ceiling and royal blue or navy blankets. Red or yellow in small accessories would make a refreshing accent for the room. A textured area rug in dark brown or dark gray might make a nice backdrop for the blue and white linens....See MoreTray vs. flat ceiling in Master Bedroom (vaulted an option too)
Comments (59)@njseventyfour I meant put the two adjacent in the corner - it looks like your chimney is to the right of that first window, correct? Couldn't you put the second window to the left of the remaining window? Might make for a nice spot to sit....See MoreTricky Pickle
