How to decorate a bathroom with an almond tub & toilet?
Comments (7)Sorry you aren't a fan of almond - I much prefer that to white! Since you are going for a tropical paradise feel, let's talk about what that means to you. Are you going to have beachy accents in the bedroom like a hurricane vase with sand and shells and a pillar candle? Tropical floral arrangements? Some warm colors like corals as well as some cool colors like the turquoise that is the color of the year for 2010? I would think about considering the almond fixtures as a way to bring in the sand color of the beach. Pick a little warmer white for the cabinetry and trim. Do a white shower curtain with ribbon trim in one of the tropical colors you use in the bedroom, and the same for the towels, rug for the floor, etc. Find a wall basket that can contain some tropical greenery and orchids for over the toilet. Hang some artwork on the side of the tall closed cabinet that brings in sand and water. I think silver fixtures work with the almond, but I would do a brushed finish rather than a chrome. It is just a bit warmer....See MoreBathroom Rug/Color Scheme Ideas?
Comments (2)At one time Bed Bath and Beyond offered a very thin foam backed type of rug...a sort of sleek velvet finish on the top ...perfect for your situation as most were very contemporary in design...they also have the added feature of being cut to fit if needed.......See Moreneed help with color scheme for bathroom
Comments (17)If you want to keep it really simple, consider going with the hotel model. Most hotels, regardless of decor, use white towels, etc. Definitely rule of thumb for spas, as well. You could also use a shower curtain, which would give you the option of covering the tile, to whatever extent you like. https://nearsay.com/c/622336/74285/3-ways-to-make-your-glass-shower-doors-more-private This would allow you a lot of decor choices, with curtain color, style, etc. You could also just use a very simple white shower curtain, as shown above. You do not have to ’match‘ the black in the apartment, but if you would like to pay homage to the black trim and detail, which is very nice by the way, you could of course still use black in rugs and other accessories. As one idea, I think something like this could be elegant. As far as bolder colors, etc.: You would need to be able to see the space as a neutral backdrop - which it essentially is - and you then bring in the other color(s) as accent(s). Since I personally see the space and it’s connection color-wise to the shore nature palette, I would probably choose to accent with colors like the light blues and or gold and or coral/pink - along those lines. Below, as one example: You notice the gold wall + pink and blue incorporated into towel arrangement. So for example, you could mix it up and do gold towels with the black rug, or gold and white, or gold and light blue, etc., etc. the sky is the limit. And it goes beyond shore type color palette; it really depends on what you see and what you like. I just think the shore palette works well with the color scheme and elements in your space, and I tend to defer to nature in many of my design considerations. But outside of that box, there are any number of ways you could go. A deep plum/eggplant color could be striking, for example. There are really many possibilities. Hope some of this is helpful....See MoreStyling around Beige/almond Bathroom Decor
Comments (11)Congratulations on your new home! I love this article for inspiration ... beautiful beige bathrooms. I hope it might help with some ideas/inspiration: https://www.bhg.com/bathroom/color-schemes/neutrals/beige-bathrooms/ I would not put 4000 LEDs in a bathroom. I would concentrate on paint, new fixtures if possible (such as antique brass), paint vanity a warm white, accessories after you change the paint color. For your window, I’d get a roller blind temporarily for privacy, then revisit something dressier later, after you get other things changed. You could do a Roman shade, for example— ....See MoreCyndi Weinstein
