What irresponsible and immature behavior.

There have been many incidents in recent times, concerning other types of misconduct, where poor and indefensible conduct was made public on the internet. (I'm thinking of several racist outbursts that have been videoed and also the woman who, deliberately mask-less in a grocery store, walked around and made fake coughs in people's faces).

In each of these and perhaps other instances, the individual concerned was identified, recognized by their employers, and fired. Maybe in this case, the would-be malingering person's identity will find its way to her employer and she'll get what she deserves - unemployment.

Went back and the post had been removed. This particular person has advertised in the group that she is available for babysitting. I would not trust such a person with my family.

I'm sure this happens more than expected. But asking for a positive person is going to extremes. It was convenient that so many people were off sick over Christmas. You have a better chance of hitting the million dollar lottery in my area than finding an at home test. Plus you have to pay for them out of pocket. So people use testing sites.

Call in sick Christmas eve, schedule online for an appointment for a test which takes one to two days depending on the demand, then wait 2-7 days for results. Bingo you have your holiday off and your employer can't do anything about it even if your negative. As long as you are negative you can do this multiple times whenever you want off with pay.

Each family gets 4 tests free from the gov. just have to email covidtest.,gov on Wednesday.

Color me not shocked.

If people are willing to forge vax cards, why not fake tests? Altho one would presume it would be more popular to fake a negative than a positive.

Can't say I'm surprised that people cheat (at anything), but it is disappointing. On the other hand, suppose you have young child(ren) and can't afford to pay day care, well ... some people are caught between a rock and a hard place. Other people are just plain no-count. Wish I had the magic solution but I don't.

New York offers full pay for mandatory isolation when one tests positive. They also now allow self reports of positive tests. You attest you tested positive at home, they instantly email you isolation orders.

My spouse and I work for different employers. Both of us have strong suspicions of false self reports for the paid time off.

The bigger problem is that once you test positive, you allegedly can't get reinfected for 90 days. You may test positive in a residual infection kind of way , but there is no isolation ordered.

Who wants to bet hese folks do eventually get it....and then come to work sick because they used up their paid state leave.

This post could not have come at a more relevant time for me. This past week, I was supposed to be off Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and come work a day shift for overtime for one of the day girls who took the day off on Friday. I got a call Wednesday afternoon hat the other night minion had made claims of having Symptoms ( a headache and a little cough) and had decided to wait until 3 pm to go to the doctor. Night shift starts at 5 pm. But he was sure to call our on site nurse and inform her of his symptoms and his intentions to get a test, so she, adhering to company policy, told him NOT to come to work until he got a negative test. My employer offers up to 5 days paid off to wait for a test result. These days are separate from our normal sick days and only available to those who have filed proof of vaccination.

So anyway, I had to work Wed and Thursday night, and was told that I would be working Friday night as well, because the doctor he saw write an excuse not releasing him to come back to work until the 15th if it was negative and the 17th if it was positive,. This caused a few problems for my boss because he had to scramble to cover for the girl who took off an Friday, and so basically everyone had to work extra for this little stunt of his.

Well, I think he waited so late in the afternoon to go see the doctor because he wanted the rest of his days off, and thought it would take that long for the test to come back. Why? Because I got a text from my boss Friday afternoon telling me not to come to work that night. Why? Because the other night minions test had come back negative, and even though his doctor told him not to return until the 15th ( he would have been scheduled off anyway that night, it would have been my first night back) because he may be contagious, he decided to go BACK to the doctor a soon as he got his test result, and get them to amend the note releasing him to come back on the 14th, so that he would not have to use one of his his sick days to cover Friday night. The other were covered because he was waiting for results. I was LIVID! Because I found it ODD that he was tooo deathly ill to come to work on weeknights, when it is relatively steady and lots or work to be done, but he felt perfectly healthy on Friday night, which are extremely easy and slow, when he would have had to charge a sick day. All of a sudden he was the very picture of health.

But I just tried to let it go. Let it go, amy, LET IT GO. Well, he called me. Numerous times, and texted me, and left me voicemails to call him. I finally calmed down enough. WHAT DO YOU WANT?? He called, allegedly to make sure that i was informed not to come to work that night, since his medically miraculous recovery. WHY WOULDN'T THEY CALL ME AND TELL ME NOT TO COME IN?!?!? THEY CALLED ME WHEN THEY NEEDED ME TO COME IN!!!!!

The fact is, he was calling to see if I was mad at him,. which I was and am. He's not fooling anyone, and I do not buy it when he goes into his "I'm an old man so feel sorry for me" garbage. If your that old and feeble than retire. Once he realized that I was onto his scam, he got very defensive and went into a speech about how they are HIS sick days and he shouldn't have to use them if he didn't want to. Then he went back into his feeble old man routine when I told him that it was a miracle indeed how healthy he was on should a blessedly easy night like a Friday.

" I didn't FEEL good...blah blah blah wah wah wah....." Well I didn't feel good about clearing three nights that I had planned to be off, to come work for you, only to have the one easy, slow one, which is basically free money, snatched away because your test results came back earlier than you planned. Liar. Scammer. Cheat.

I wonder if he still actually thinks that anyone bought his little act.

Sal, how do you think that will go on Wednesday with the government issued tests? Surely the website will be impacted, could crash as when ACA rolled out.

The dishonest and lack of moral ethic some people have never ceases to amaze me.

People are widely saying that putting Vaseline in your nose will give a negative result.

If there is a line in the sand people need to meet there are others who will figure out how to beat the system. Fraud/low character/cheaters/opportunists trying to make a buck have been around every corner since the beginning of time.

Doesn't surprise me at all. There's always someone out there willing to pull a stunt like that.

I agree with the first part but all new companies and new products come about because of people seeing an opportunity to make money and then being able to execute their plans successfully. You could unkindly call them the "opportunists trying to make a buck". Such characterization of activities shouldn't imply conduct lacking in fairness, integrity, or honesty. I don't think that was intended but the brush was perhaps too broad.
