Help choosing wall color for my Hardwood floor( new tone)
Comments (17)Hi Lana! It's tricky to find silvery pale gray that won't go green or brown. The Benjamin Moore color of the year for 2019 is Metropolitan. It looks gorgeous in pictures—but, like Silver Chain, it's too dark for my rooms (registers as wet cement). I studied the BM paint deck and eliminated a lot of other popular grays: Classic Gray (too warm, pink?), Balboa Mist (too beige), Revere Pewter (too brown), Gray Owl (too green), Silver Half Dollar (too blue), Stonington and Conventry Gray (too dark). My 1939 bungalow is a quirky space with wide trim painted BM Super White, which required a neutral backdrop for a scheme of black/white/pops of color. My pick—BM Silver Satin OC-26—the results are FABULOUS! Good luck on your quest....See Morechoosing wall color for sun room
Comments (9)Given it’s a sunroom I would look for a rug that feels light and airy and less traditional. Rug below may not be the right shade of green of your paint, but a similar rug would be really cute in there. I find that when I paint I re-evaluate accessories and thought the following ideas may help if you plan to update. I can see modern botanical cushions that bring in the green and couch color, as well as framed prints over couch. Add a large straw basket with a throw for cooler evenings and of course, don’t forget a large plant....See MoreDesign dilemma: please help choose wall color!
Comments (9)Beth, thank you! All great suggestions!! We debated between cloud white and alabaster for the cabinets, so I must be on the right track. As far as hardware, yes! We’ve got silver bar pulls chosen, not too different from the photo you shared. Love the kitchen you shared! Very timeless/classic, which is what we’re going for. I think your advice confirms we are doing okay so far... perhaps we will live with the new cabinet color before choosing wall color. Thanks for including ivory lace in your image...that’s what I’m leaning toward for walls right now. 😉...See MoreI need help with choosing wall colors for a church worship center
Comments (9)Thank you so much JudyG Designs and Simplechoices! I appreciate your knowledge and the time you've given with suggestions and pictures. As of tomorrow I have to turn in these paint colors to the painters. The painters will only work with Diamond Vogel paints, so I've been trying to cross reference with my SW choices, which is always my go-to paint co., but the decision has been made; we are going with Captain Nemo on the front (both sides of wood). If you can look up that color, it is a deep gray (hint of blue) and it looks nice with our chairs- both the blue and the gray. I'd love your opinion- if you have one about this, on the color to choose for the three other walls in the room (both sides and the back). I am leaning toward Diamond Vogel- Metro. I don't understand enough about the technical aspects of warm/vs/cold and Light reflecting or not, but perhaps you can speak to that regarding these colors? We will make the carpeting choice after the painting is done. I appreciate your thoughts on how dark the carpet choice is, and I like the "rust" suggestion, so I'll begin looking in that direction. I think a blend of those tones- gray/rust/touch of blue? would make for a nice carryover of the antiquarian brown and might make the two brick columns accented too. The sample I had shown you- I was told, is commercial grade, solution dyed, and nylon. I did pull a loop and it did pull a few loops out, but not in one long strand...so not sure on that. I wanted to alter the ceiling to a deeper gray/bluish choice as JudyG Designs suggested, but it is too late....today the black paint arrived. How I wish I would have put my discussion on much sooner! Thank you, again! I so appreciate your suggestions!...See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
