Help me choose a floor color for a very colorful room
Comments (30)I think there are higher end vinyl flooring styles that would give you the look you want and be less prone to odor and stain absorption. I had some great stuff at my last house. I didn't install it, but it looked like tile and wore like iron. Edited to add that I love linoleum and wood flooring, so I would not be saying this unless I really thought there wasn't a better option. But maybe some others who have had linoleum or tile etc. can chime in. My only experience was having vinyl flooring in my last house that I inherited, and being pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, and then having this higher end vinyl tile just installed in my new house and liking it more than I thought I would too because it is somewhat textured so softer on the feet than the older stuff. But I also installed flat vinyl checkerboard flooring on an old clubhouse I was in charge of about ten years ago, and that was simple, inexpensive and looked good in the end. Again, I wanted linoleum, but the vinyl flooring was what was in my price range. I did green and white squares, the tile was lightly marbled....See MoreWhat color should I paint master bedroom walls with lots of sun?
Comments (15)With all that dark furniture I wonder if dark flooring would be a good idea, although I don't know how well dark furniture and a light floor would go together. You could always cover a large portion of the floor with a beautiful Oriental rug with colors that you love and then pull your bedding, pillow and drape colors from that. You could still have a white duvet and focus the color on the pillows. You could choose a soft, pale green for the walls and take that as your inspiration for rugs, drapes, etc. I do think some of these items should have patterns with added colors such as yellow, pale blue, green and a touch of pink or terracotta to add warmth. I would look for pictures on houzz and elsewhere for traditional bedrooms and that should give you wealth of ideas....See Morehelp!!! I need to choose a colour to go in my living-room /dining-room
Comments (25)Sounds like a fireplace re-do might be a longer-term fix. In the meantime, I'd paint the mantle a dark brown, a similar colour to your end tables. It's not trim and shouldn't be white. It pops out too much in the white colour. Another idea that doesn't involve any ripping-out is to go right over the existing mantle using a mantle slipcover in wood. Here's one of many how-to's on the internet. If you stained your brick as well, you could have a whole new look. https://www.fwmadebycarli.com/2011/01/making-of-slip-covered-mantel.html...See MoreHELP choosing family room wall color and whole house color palette
Comments (4)Swatching colors side by side on the old color doesn't really help. You need need white poster board painted the colors you are looking at with a white edge around it. Then you move them around the room during different times of the day to see the color in the space. OR you can order from Samplize to try colors. I would try the Prussian Blue in your rooms as suggested. I think it is going to way to bright....See Morebtydrvn
