Non-toxic basement floor over concrete - cork? (kids, pet, pool)

Due to a sump pump failure, we unexpectedly need to replace our basement floor. We tore out the nylon Berber carpet and pad since it was soaked (and had proper remediation done)

Our flooring criteria are:

  • non-toxic (ideally low/no VOC, no chemicals like Scotchguard in a lot of carpets, limit chance for microplastic to get tracked through the whole house)
  • can handle kids + pets
  • feels warm (kids down there all the time playing, including in cold Northeast US winters)
  • can handle some water
  • ideally is ~$8.50 per sq ft installed (I know, I know)

What would my closest option be?

If I didn't care about the environment / toxicity, I'd love to get one of these solution dyed nylon cut pile carpets...they look great, wear great, and are in the right price range. But I'm imagining all those chemicals / plastics being tracked through our whole home...
