I am looking for 2 tone kitchen cabinet, Thanks a ton for above thread, upper could be PPG Dedicate white and lower equivalent to BM Hale Navy, would you please help to find equivalent of BM's Hale Navy on PPG, I checked Cavalry & Annapolis Blue both are near to that but I am not sure, if those are accurate. Ceiling : PPG Dedicate White, Trim - PPG Dedicate White , Counter - White & Grey Granite, Cabinet : Upper Fixture : PPG Dedicate White, Lower : BM Hale Navy equivalent., Island : BM HN, South Facing large open concept Kitchen with Family Room, Breakfast Nook : PPG Whiskers equivalent to Agreeable Grey. Alabaster and anew are gorgeous together. Alabaster’s white will be crisper and is beatiful with anew gray better than repose gray because their chromas are greater than .20. Colors from the same hue family which in this case is yellow, need a .20 or more difference to have a cleaner white. However, Alabaster‘s chroma is .66 and Repose Gray chroma is .59 are less than .20, when painted together something happens to the lower chroma color when there isnt a .20 difference. Yes, it will make your whites not as bright and clean, but also activate the lower chroma color which is repose gray‘s complementary color. Repose gray belongs to the yellow/orange family. What complements yellow on the circle wheel? Look at a color wheel and straight across from yellow is purple! You paint alabaster with repose gray, repose gray will look purple bluish. I have done it and I honestly dont like this combination. If you don’t want costly paint mistakes, I would follow this formula every time when painting. If you love repose gray find another white that will give you thet .20 difference. If you have your heart set on it you can get the look .20 difference with a lot of other colors. Crushed ice, passive, stonington gray, and front porch.

Zory, there is definite contrast, enough that you know the walls are not painted the same color as the trim. But it’s not super high contrast. I am going to attach a few photos. They are not ideal but I am out of town and these are the best that I have on my camera currently. I could take some better ones for you if I were at home. My kitchen cabinets are painted the same color as my trim and my ceiling is painted Heron Plume like my walls. If you focus on areas where you can see the white trim or cabinets next to the painted wall or ceiling, hopefully you will get an idea of what it looks like.

Help! We are re-doing our kitchen and I need to choose a cabinet color for my maple cabinets. Our home is the Tuscan style from the early 2000’s, so I do want to go with a warmer color. My walls are SW divine white. I like a bit of a darker beige or cream than Divine white to offset the lighter LRV of 72. Has anyone tried SW Natural Linen, BM Natural linen, BM Clay Beige, BM White Sand for cabinets? Also was thinking of Accessible Beige, but afraid it will be too gray. My kitchen is north facing, with minimal light. Our floors are noche travertine. We are going with a lighter granite or quartz and maybe Cle’ tiles for backsplash.
