Kitchen shaker style cabinet fronts, island posts, fireplace design help
Comments (0)My cabinets will be shaker style ,island posts are shaker style and fireplace will have shaker style columns and they are all located in one open area. My question is - ---What depth of the shaker style insert panels of the island posts and fireplace should be compared to the kitchen cabinet fronts insert depth? Which I think those should be about 1/4 " depth. These will be all custom made. Thank you , Tammy Please help !...See MoreSmaller Family Room Corner Fireplace Design Help Requested!
Comments (3)I dont think a sectional is right for this room. you would get a lot more function out of sofa and chairs. Leave the tv on that wall but center it too the wall. pull the sofa off the wall . try centering it to the fireplace wall first. then try centering it to the tv next to the fireplace. you need to get used to the idea that the couches do not need to be on walls here....See MoreNeed Fireplace design help
Comments (2)Completely redoing it. Definitely removing the mirror. Thinking about El Dorado stone, but not sure about keeping the side columns or mantel pop out. Would probably prefer a wood mantel....See MoreFireplace design help!!
Comments (15)I'm sorry, I did not realize there was brick on the wall below the stone hearth. I changed my mind.... on how I would approach this. To keep costs more minimal... I would remove the brick around the firebox, remove the hearth because I now see the the stone is chipped on the right side. Remove the brick below the hearth. Use ledger surround entirely around the firebox, not going to the ceiling (my drawing above. I would build a raised hearth. I'm (not sure if a pathway would be directed that close to the wall corner). I think it would feel more comfortable if the hearth is not raised to avoid falling or tripping, coming around the corner....pathway might be too close to that wall corner..... I would 'not' raise the hearth. I would install a tile (maybe marble) as a hearth imbedded in the floor next to the wood flooring. I think visually it would feel better... because it is so close to the wall edge of that space. You can keep the firebox where it is....See Morepalimpsest
