Finally heard back about the desk. Hopefully picking it up on monday. It's bigger than what the pics look! 45" wide. Not looking so good for the chairs. Ah well, one will show up that's meant for me. maybe. :) I'll have to take pictures of everything once i get it. Not sure where i'm going to put the spindle table if the buffet goes the foyer. A lot of wood real close together on the same wall. I could maybe put it in the LR on the other side of the couch near the lamp everyone says i should get rid of. Check out this. CL $50. buffet is 50" this is 40 something.. too much wood? I know i'm all over the place with my thread(s). Sorry, i'm just excited!

Sofa comfort is subjective. A short person will be more comfortable on shorter seating while a tall person will feel cramped. Throw pillows are intended to support short people in an upright posture. Keep in mind that as we grow older too low-to-the-floor seating puts stress on the hip joints when one attempts to get up. Make sure your furniture fits you.

I think it depends on your size, how you like to sit and what you'll be doing. This little chair is in my tiny "babe cave". My great aunt gave it to me (I really wanted it) in pretty sad shape. I had it repaired and recovered in muslin (my intention is to slipcover it). Since I'm only 5' tall, the chair is a perfect fit for me; I can sit all the way back and my feet reach the ground! My next project will be to make a small ottoman because it's more comfortable for me to sit long term with my legs up. The reason for my long story - you might want to check out some consignment/2nd hand stores for a nice, previously owned chair.
