SOS! ceiling track and curtains question

Hi, I purchased a ceiling track with clips for my windows and ordered custum made curtains from with pole pocket and hidden tab top. I dont have a valance of any kind yet. Any tips on how to clip the curtains so that they will look nice. Is the only way to do it is from the top edge of the curtain?

I have no idea why you ordered the tab top drapes with a ceiling mount track so maybe post pics of both.

Yeah, you ordered the wrong heading. The ones you ordered, would slide onto a rod, not ceiling mounted. Also, if you're going to be opening and closing them, you want drapery pins, not clips. They're going to be pulling out of them a lot.

At this point if you keep what you have, then yes, the only way would be to clip on to the top of the curtain.

There's also this shower curtain that TRAX sells with a micro mesh panel. It should provide enough light and ventilation without using the chains. Hoping not to take this thread too far off topic but since the issue of keeping shower glass clean is being discussed.... Our master bath glass shower has been in use several times daily for the past 9 years. With minimal effort it is as pristine today as it was 9 years ago. We squeegee after each shower but when I clean the bathroom I occasionally wipe over the glass with wet SPENT dryer sheets. A quick rinse and the glass is sparkling! I confess I polish all my glass, windows, mirrors etc. with crumpled newspaper for a really good finish, and I do this after cleaning the showers too. Very quick, great results. Lizbeth-gardener I encountered the same problem when I was helping my brother prepare the house he had just purchased. The shower glass was almost opaque with hard water and soap scum. Nothing would remove it until in desperation I tried liquid toilet bowl cleaner (I prefer Sno Bol), wiped on with a cloth and rinsed well !! If you try it be careful, read the cautions on the container, test a small area and use gloves, that stuff is caustic! It worked really well for us and the glass became clear again.

I actually think it might be cheaper to cut a wide enough piece of drywall out all around to have access to properly brace the track and ceiling all around and patch and spackle once the track is in place than it would to carefully cut a slot that required no patching. The curtains will also be very heavy so the track needs to be supported. If you wish to use ripplefold, also note that ripplefold drapes will not work with some recessed track. I am recessing my shower curtain tracks, but when I do my ceiling mounted curtains I may surface mount the track, I am not sure yet. Tektrim may make the track you are interested in

I suggest you try drapery pins. You insert them so top of pin is at top of rod spot. Pick pins that match weight of drapery. In other words, big heavy pins don’t work well with sheets. I also rub pin tips in waxed paper to make them easier to slide into header of drapery panel. Just treat your drapery panels as though they are simple Panels.

I would agree, drapery pins are the way to go. They will stand up to the opening and closing of the drapes, where clips many times will allow for the drapes to slip out, especialy if the drapes are heavier. Allow for the weight of the drapes when chooing the pins, very important. The other way to go would have been grommets, however that ship has sailed.

I think you will be much happier with the funcionailty and appearance of the pins over clips.

Those are the only ones I found that fit what I was looking for in general and I thought I could make it work. Do you think I can use the clip on the drapery pins and would I have to sew something onto the curtain for the drapery pin to attach to?
