Accent wall in living room with grey wisp

I recently bought this and looking for ideas for accent wall. The wall color is Grey Wisp. Living room has very high half vaulted ceiling. The plan is to add a 65 inches frame tv with electric fireplace of 72 inches. Also I have to buy newfurniture and get rid of old furniture. Open to add paneling as well.

I think fretwork might look good. Nothing jarring — keep the wall color the same and just add a neat design over it.

Just an example (Lowe’s carries this line):

The design depends on your decor style(s). Modern, traditional, transitional, etc.

But … I’d think about the possibility that no matter what you do, it might look choppy and disjointed due to the varying ceiling heights and other elements. Just something to consider. Definitely see if you can find some inspiration pictures of accent walls with vaulted ceilings, if you haven’t already.

@jinx yes I did look at some pictures .but problem is ceiling is very high and room size is not that big. So if I go with any stone wall, I feel it may look odd and will take space. So I am more inclined towards either paneling or just put one floating long beam and wall mount fireplace below the beam and TV above . Not sure how it will look.

I've found that grey wisp looks great in bright light with white trim. If you don't have good light and if you have wood trim, it is not as nice (seems to turn to more of a hospital green, if you know what I mean.) On my monitor, it looks like your chairs and sofa are an olive green. Might just be me, but I wouldn't put grey wisp with olive colours. I think it would look nice with your rug and maybe I just can't see the correct colour of your chairs. YOur room looks lovely and cozy - especially with the fireplace. It has been -25 to -30 Celsius here (without the windchill!) and I'd love to have a fireplace to curl up in front of.

Yes, red is fine. But in my opinion the more concealed red is better than the splashy one, especially in a room this size. Make the red preferably in small accents as in: a pillow in a neutral colour with some red in it. Or like a green plant that blooms with red flowers. Variations of the same tones of red in more or less density is more lively than all the exact same tone. Besides that: such a red combines lovely with yellow. So if you do feel tempted to use yellow again, it would bring unity to the house. Both teal and turquoise are good possibilities too, but in such a small room I would rather go for the teal. Since teal is a less invasive colour, you can allow yourself more of it. Perhaps with a tiny streak of turquoise here and there in a picture or candle or whatever. Once again: teal goes well with yellow. The turquoise not so much though in my opinion. Do not become too bold. Curtains are very big. Neutral ones would fit in here better as to not dominate the room. You really think you need curtains though? Might make the room feel crowded.

You have options! An accent wall can be a great way to accentuate interesting architectural features. Pulling the dark smoky blue from your dining room onto the living room wall furthest from the dining room would help blend the spaces while balancing the visual weight of the saturated color. Painting the wall adjacent to the dining room in that color might create a density on that side of your blended spaces. The alternative would be to pull that blue in in accessories. No accent walls, please. They are for people who can't pick art, and/or who don't know how to choose colors which which to accessorize pillows, rugs, objets d'art, etc. The sofa, chair and bench in your photo are fine, but the throw pillow covers are a serious snooze. And please re-think gray as an accent color, it is neither cheerful nor hospitable. If you like ecru. you can have pillow covers in that color with a lot of texture, something along the lines of a cable knit, like an aran sweater. Williams-Sonoma has marvelous throw pillows to give you some inspiration. Look how great those plants look in the photo, green would make a great accent color, and you can add touches of black to ground the room and add sophistication and drama. You can have a black tray on a table, some black and green in art.

I would leave it as it is, and just put your tv and fireplace on the wall, and some artwork, once you get the tv and fireplace all in. I think any extra stuff, will make it look choppy. I wouldnt panel it either.
