Interesting Tree I'd like to ID
Comments (4)You might be right Peter - however, I wanted to ID a wattle that grows widely in the Melbourne area and I looked on the ANBG website. After making a number of enquiries, I found out it was Acacia iteaphylla. The ANBG shows this species having a range north of Adelaide in SA. What the site failed to mention is that it has become a weed species in Victoria. So I can't be sure your tree is E cinerea, but try to get confirmation from a local expert. One smells the flowers before they see the tree. They can tolerate but do not require wetland soils. In winter they are variable, sometimes deciduous sometimes evergreen sometimes inbetween. This is a very beautiful, desirable tree....See MoreWould like Tree ID please
