I am getting a bit of a bad name but trying to learn more. They are in kitchen.

This is my bid for a 3 feet by 6 feet walnut edge grain butcher block: $595.35 The edges will be simple eased edges. I believe this quote is for 1 3/4 inch thick. 2" thick is proportionally more. Truck shipping to from Ohio to NJ will cost $159.00 for a total $754.35. The wood top will arrive unfinished. I will have to do a light finish sanding with a 220 or 320 grit sandpaper and then oil or polyurethane all surfaces. That works out to about 33 dollars a square foot. I haven't asked for a price quote from Grothouse yet. But I plan to. I suspect that the price goes up significantly if there is a detailed ogee edge treatment and if it comes prefinished. The Grothous finish is supposed to be excellent. But now that I've seen the informative youtube video posted on GW I don't think I mind finishing the wood myself.

While these are prone to filbert blight, there is no guarantee that they will contract it. Many plants are prone to various blights and diseases and are still widely grown. Contorted filberts shrubs are common in my area (and where the blight is very problematic, decimating filbert orchards) and many live long and very healthy lives, getting to a rather amazingly large size over time. The ornamental cultivars 'Burgundy Lace' and 'Red Majestic' carry a blight resistant gene that makes them far less susceptible. And they have the benefit of maroon/burgundy flushed foliage as well. And the winter effect of the twisted, contorted branching system with the long catkins is really quite stunning!!

Check for small punctures may not even be a hole through the pepper. Stink bugs can cause this they poke around and once a pepper receives damage it usually ripens uneven. I had an apple do the same. Just a throwing out a possibility.

Is the (Mo) after your name Missouri? If so, have you tried asking on the Missouri Native Plants group in Facebook? It's a huge group with a number of botanists and ecologists as members. They can ID just about anything.

Gloss white has several options. From low to high.

Gloss laminate over MDF.

Gloss FPOE over MDF.

95 sheen 2K polyurethane sprayed coating over MDF.

Hand wet polished lacquer over MDF.

Solid hand polished acrylic over HDF.

The more labor in prep, and polishing, the higher the price. Which is why gloss laminate is the least expensive option, and the Italian versions of hand polished solid translucent acrylic is the highest. It has the luster of a pearl because it has that translucence.

If this photo were from Australia or Europe, I'd guess 2-pack over MDF, which is quite common here and there but rare or non existent in North America. Really, you need to provide more information about the source of your photos.

Verbo - I know. I was trying to explain to the OP that different countries do things differently so the source of the photo might provide a clue. (We usually call it 2 pack here in Aus. I have it in my own kitchen.)
