Hi Maureen and welcome to the wonderful world of hummerz! First of all throw away the commercial nectar mix and don't waste your money on that stuff. It is much safer to use just plain old pure cane table sugar and water. Here is the recipe: add 1/4 cup of sugar (no color added please) to 1 cup of previously boiled water. Stir well to completely dissolve the sugar. Refrigerate the mix until it is cool then pour it into clean feeders. In hot weather replace nectar and clean feeders every 2-3 days to prevent mold and mildew from growing. If nectar looks cloudy it is fermenting so dump it immediately and clean and refill feeder with fresh nectar. Don't use any other additives in the mix as this is as close to natural nectar as you can get. For people who are just starting out and don't see any hummers only pour enough nectar into the feeder so that you can see it and refrigerate the rest to use when you change the nectar. It may take a while before you start seeing any hummers in your area and you may or may not see any now until next year as they are into the southward migration but I suggest keeping at least one feeder up and fresh in case some migrators come your way. I know that in cooktop over oven cases there are sometimes conflicts between where the one unit has its fan, the other has its power, etc., etc., so that they conflict. Manufacturers will make certain of their ovens and cooktops compatible so that they can be used together. That's what the marine/rv units and all in ones have--they're build so that the pieces don't screw each other up. There's another problem, though, if you're talking rangetop. Most gas tops require a certain amount of air circulation space underneath, but besides that, they also require access to the electrical plug, and also access to the gas shut off. I suppose you could put those behind the drawers, but in that case, why couldn't you put the cooktop over the drawers to start with? I think your situation is a great candidate for magnetic induction. Have you looked at that? You can only use steel or iron cookware, but you have similar control to gas, plus features like fast water boiling and (on some units) programmable elements and/or autoshutoff countdown timers. Best of all though, when it's not in use you can use your cooktop as extra counterspace. Even while you're cooking, since only the pot gets hot, rather than the cooktop, you can put your cuttingboard, potholder, or whatever right there on the cooktop. You could put in a 30" or 36" cooktop and never miss the counter. Some, like Miele, are very shallow and don't require a lot of underneath space. I think it's maybe a few inches from the top of the counter, or about an inch from the bottom of the unit. These shallow ones usually require a little back of cabinet air space, but so do the fridges, and they might be able to share the space, if there were enough cool air circulation back there. That might raise your counter just a bit, but some of us do that on purpose anyway. That said, I agree with Palimpsest, that a 24" wide, tall fridge makes sense, and would be much easier.

It is kind of hard to reach and we never fill it up. My husband is the only one that drinks wine and when we have friends over it is usually for a beer or some margaritas. I need to rip it out anyway to recess the refrigerator and I probably won't feel that compelled to put it back up. I am still thinking about using IKEA and in the space next to the refrigerator, I could do a 24" upper microwave cabinet and a 9" cabinet with shelves that some people have used for wine. That would leave the base for some drawers. Alternatively, I was thinking about a microwave drawer but I will have too see where the budget lands. I probably need a little design help with that space so maybe I need to repost with that question.

Im such a novice with all of this that due to Covid ive done this whole thing by myself with no experience so im willing to let some imperfections stand as we also have a baby on the way t-minus 4 weeks. @mama goose_gw zn6OH agree.. its about as far out as i think im willing to go. I can always correct things later on if i feel the need.
