The first shot I had sore injection site, my hip hurt, and swollen lymph nodes for a day. The second shot no swollen lymph nodes, but I ached all over for two days. But I have reactions to everything I take. Several other co-workers had NO reactions either time. Most people feel few side effects. A small percentage do. I would do it all over again if it means a lesser, or non, reaction to getting COVID. A temporary pain for long term protection!!! PSA: do NOT take pain medication before this vaccine. After is ok. It's common practice for other vaccines, but not for this one. I never really thought about it, but quite possibly. Although women were really forced in during WWI (in Europe and somewhat in America) and WWII (Europe and America) and never chose to leave. Their choice, and if they didn't want to, I'm fine with that. Not that it wouldn't have happened anyway with the social trends in place, I'm thinking; both my grandmothers and all my great-aunts had at least a bachelor's-- a bit unusual for my generation. Nowadays it's much more normal. My mother didn't choose to stay home after my formative years and more power to her. As to why we're so resistant to stay-at-home fathers is another story. :-) On the other hand, I learned to cook (clean, wash, sew, and so on) at quite appropriate ages, and did so for the family as I grew. Simple meals aren't time-consuming and can be pre-prepared with some assistance. I find the bubonic plague theory interesting. My older brother got bubonic plague in Vietnam. He lives in a very open part of our state. Never put on a mask, no vaccines and went on with his life as usual. As far as we know he never got Covid nor any of its variants. I believe I probably had Covid before it hit the news. At the end of 2019 through the beginning of 2020 I was having issues with fatigue, mild bouts of fever similar to hot flashes and a dry, harsh, continuous cough that lasted over 2 months. Got the variant couple of months ago. Felt completely out of it for 24 hours (sore throat and fever), then felt better but lost all my appetite for several days. Building my strength back from not eating was my biggest hurdle. Was back to normal activity in 5 days. DH had the first two shots. He tested positive a few days after I was ill. I never bothered to test at all. Why test for the obvious? His symptoms were similar to mine except he always still eats when he gets sick and my appetite is the first to go whenever I fight anything viral. I guess my immune system really kicks up the cytokines.
