Just a bit of a sore arm at the injection site with the first dose. Haven't had the 2nd one yet.

We both had the same sore arm. No different than any flu shot either of us have had. Had a conversation with the doctor who lives next door yesterday and he suggested not committing to anything important the day after the booster, just on the chance there was a brief fever or chills. Like our calendar hasn't been mostly open all year ;0)

My 79 yr old dad had his 1st this past Tuesday moderna brand and he had no side effects, we will see what happens with 2nd in March. He didn’t even complain of sore arm

Yeah, that's a hoot morz8. For me, like you, I don't anticipate having a problem clearing out possible reaction/recovery time on my calendar when need be. My second is two weeks and a few days away.

The other inhabitant of my home received an invitation for a Super Bowl viewing party, Really? I don't think we'll be there because we have a conflict- it's called "common sense". The host is an airhead to begin with but I'm shocked at the dunderheadedness of her thinking this to be a good idea. Her son (who lives out of the area) is a medical doctor, I'm sure he'll be excited to learn of his mother's conduct.

I had my first Moderna dose yesterday morning. Very, *very* slight 'bruised' feeling where I was punctured. I'd have to go poking at it to remember it's there!

LIke Elmer, there were a few tears in my eyes NOT to be heading to Maui. It was 8F here this morning, with a foot of icy snow on the ground.

We received our second injection yesterday. Feeling nothing. Hope this continues. Maybe it’s good to be old. Docs said the older patients usually have no issues after the second, mainly the younger folks with issues. Yay , for 82.

Haven't had mine yet but should be getting up the list. I have been on antibiotics for a tooth problem. Probably will have work done this week. I don't know if I should get the shot while this is going on. Husband found on internet to get the shot even if on antibiotics but with a root canal I'm not sure.

We haven't had ours yet. My sister just had her first one with some soreness and itching that didn't last long. We have a family friend in her 80's who's having a terrible itching problem after her first shot. Doesn't seem to be easing up.

Had our first Pfizer on Wednesday and other than soreness on the arm ( lasted maybe 18 hours) there was nothing.

I have also heard that the 2nd dose is often a bit more. My son in law didn't feel well ( he said almost flu like, chills, lousy, aches,) and went to bed super early. The next day for about 1/2 of it he was really wiped out and then felt fine. I have heard this from a few people. No one had horrible symptoms for longer than 24 hours that I know.

And yes, I honestly felt elated and still can't believe we got our first shot. Baby steps towards normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our state starts the over 65's Monday. I got a call today and am scheduled for my first shot (it will be Pfizer) on Tuesday with the second on Mar 2. I was excited as I thought it would be a while before they got to me. I registered with our hospital system a few weeks back and he just registered a day or two ago so it might be a while before he gets his appointment.

DD and her DH have had both their shots, also Pfizer. He had a few hours where he didn't feel like doing anything but nothing major. He had almost signed on to fill in a shift at the Fire Dept but was glad he didn't. DD hasn't had any effects, but she had likely been exposed so many times in the ER, we all think she has built-in immunities.

I'm with Elmer...I think my reaction will be the same....sudden urges to travel and eat out a lot more. Not likely to become reality though.

First Pfizer shot didn't bother either os us, don't know what the second one will be like in 3 weeks.

I had my first Moderna shot three hours ago and not only did I not feel the needle go in, my arm doesn't ache even when I touch the spot. However then I did a four mile hike thru the snow, icy chunks and muddy slush using ski poles and my shoulders are killing me.

My next shot is March 6. There were no long lines like I had seen on TV. There was a woman waiting her 15 minutes, a man filling out a form and me. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes because my husband was along and I didn't need to wait.

Although I am aware that the other variations will mean I am not completely safe when I finally have mine I have already decided that I will wait a couple of weeks and actually go to my favorite Swiss bakery and do my own grocery shopping.

I must confess that when the person that was to give me my shot returned from talking to the doctors on staff that day and told me I could not have the shot I burst into tears even though I had already told myself that it was very unlikely my trip to Europe this fall would happen. Only hopeful thing about putting off the shot until a clinic for people with medical allergies is that the new variations may be in the shot by the mid to late summer estimate I was given.

No, that's right. Not a function of any immunity I have but more importantly that of others, especially the less well off people in our communities. I was very excited to learn that FEMA and the US Military are being pressed into service to enhance disgtribution and expand the number of community vaccination sites and provide staffing for same. I'd ask "why did that take so long?" but we all know the answer.

My initial reaction was itching at the site of the shot(Moderna). It took me a moment to realize the nurse stuck a little band aid on the spot and I am sensitive to the adhesive. I peeled that off. Elsewise only a tiny sore spot that lasted a day or so. I get the second shot in a couple of weeks. DH was a little more sore. I am happy to be at least partially protected. The surprising thing for me was I got this now because I am over 65. Nothing else taken into consideration. My medical problems did not come into it at all. That is dumb. I am thinking of younger people with medical issues.

Apparently you should not take something to ease your discomfort unless it is absolutely necessary. No ibuprofen or such stuff.

I may have felt a little more tired then usual after my first Pfizer shot. But that may have been because I was so excited to be receiving the vaccination I didn’t sleep well the night before. Our second shots are on the 14th, a Valentine’s Day Date!

Remember the following, something I read recently about the stronger reactions from shot 2:

No side effects with my 1st Pfizer shot. Little arm soreness.

So my DD, who is an acute care Nurse Practitioner, advised me I can take Tylenol 24 hours prior and 36 hours AFTER getting the shot. She recommended taking one Tylenol an hour prior to the injection. If you feel achy/have a headache afterward, take Benadryl and drink lots of water and fluids/electrolytes, no sugars or sugary drinks. You can also take Pepcid.

I just got my first Pfizer vaccine today. I am amazed that the shot itself was so comfortable. I barely felt anything in my arm for a fraction of a second. No sense of a prick, pinch, poke, piercing. Those needles are so thin that they are a miracle in themselves. They just slip right in and out before you know it.

The first shot I had sore injection site, my hip hurt, and swollen lymph nodes for a day. The second shot no swollen lymph nodes, but I ached all over for two days. But I have reactions to everything I take.

Several other co-workers had NO reactions either time.

Most people feel few side effects. A small percentage do. I would do it all over again if it means a lesser, or non, reaction to getting COVID. A temporary pain for long term protection!!!

PSA: do NOT take pain medication before this vaccine. After is ok.

I work in medical research.

I had both and only a sore arm with both of them. The arm and shoulder were a little more sore with the second than the first. No other side affects for me. Some other people who got them, younger than me, said they had chills, body aches, fever and had fatigue with the second vaccination. I think their immune system is better than mine and that is why I didn't have much of a reaction compared to them. I'm 58. The only immunization that really affected me was the second Shingrix vaccine so I wasn't expecting much anyway.

I forgot to add- quite importantly--- that I do have shellfish allergy.

At first I was pretty concerned, but I did notice that the question asked was more about reactions to vaccines. I have had none ( I got the T-dap I think is the name about 5 years ago when we became grandparents,,,,,,and last year had the hepatitis A and B).

I figured since we were getting our shots at the hospital, I would not worry.

(Also, since I have avoided shellfish for about 30 years now, I have no idea if I am still allergic)

No reaction regarding allergy. It was the gentlest shot I ever got but I did have some soreness in my arm.

I won't feel 'protected' until after I've had the second shot on board for a while. DH has been musing about whether we'll still be masking for another twelve months or longer. Mutations are a factor, as well as how much resistance there is to accepting the vaccines.

I'd like to know if sales of nostrums for colds and flu have been impacted by a public that is masking, distancing, washing more often.

My friend was just telling me that his niece that is an RN just had her second shot and got terribly sick. She's OK but was scared there for a few hours! So now he's scared of his second shot that he was all excited to be fixing to get. His first shot was fine as was his niece's first shot.

FYI: For those that are thinking this is FREEDOM. The vaccine will not be saturated--given to the entire country for well over a year. By then the number of mutations will be as the seasonal flu...and we will be getting vaccines YEARLY for this. It's time to follow the science people. Accept what's real and let fear go. Not sure what a previous poster (hater) meant by 'we all know' why this roll out took so long what I know is this vaccine had to be DEVELOPED. The raw material needed were not manufacture HERE--four presidents ago manufacturing in the good 'ole USof A was KILLED...get over yourself. Deal in REAL, deal in TRUTH, look to the science!!
